judih: Thanks for helping me to a conscious realization early in this thread and maybe in pm as to the dual nature of cat and the comparison with dog. I'm catching the thread of a story and appreciate your input.

Yesterday, from the window, I watched a couple of our young cats crash into the bushes with hair on end like they were being chased by the devil. At the same time, a couple of our older cats got up from their spots in the shade and strolled quickly under my truck. About then a malamute sporting a red bandana around its neck came loping through the yard with nose to the ground.

Guess there might be something to be learned in the perspective reactions, eh?
