seeing fault in perfect vision
whilst in high pursuit of slow burns
driven into unreason and points past return
making the best of a shit sandwich
gasping for breath in rushtime traffic
and the windows open
eyes burning with no solace at the bottom
of my plastic milkshaped cup
must be causing more harm than good
wishing things were better understood
with saving grace and well meaning face
and hands tied and bleeding harpsicords

to the goddess whose oath I still keep
and the over breeders who boil her blood
to each according too
set your course straight
never mind the what for or who
by bite or by sting
whip ambition and bring string

judih

don't ask for whom the blood boils
it boils for thee
why? why not ask
is a query no longer possible
can i not ask for whom
or what?
am i refused the time to ask of thee, oh goddess?
and by the way,
where art thou?
been waiting for oh so long, goddess

i say, take your time
but you know i don't mean it
i need a sign
show me a fraction of an indication
a little now and then reminder
that it's okay to wait
to ask,
to drink of the holy water
that flows from my roof

is that okay?
and is your blood a boil?

Avery L. Breath

unstable ions
are likely to attract
and colonize
and fiercely reside
severing the ego
spreading like a virus
into membrain
forming head change
using thought crimes
for chewing rocks
no really, I'm fine
just exploring depths
plumming canyons
breeching gaps

judih

plummeting into the abyss
grabbing at cherry branches
a nightly adventure

Avery L. Breath

sometimes slack jawed
always humble
living this mystery school
at the behest of wonder
with cusps of gratitude
many a bleeding heart
boils and thunders

Avery L. Breath

thathump swish
in a ringing motion
the heart twists
moving blood
like making a fist
a sodium potassium pump
in electrochemical bliss

thank you arteries
and bicuspids alike
some day
your working overtime will pay
all in spades

Avery L. Breath

smiles sure are great
how they just slip right in
hardly ever seem out of place
so quick, no need for grace
how one lites up a mug
a frown turned inside out
and upside down
in well worn lines
and pearlies white
in gaps and crooked rows
it's the only thing genuine
the eyes have it too
here's one from me to you
