Hello friends.

I have done so many Google searches and cannot determine what this mushroom is...it's an odd one.  I actually found it broken on a lawn so I wasn't able to photograph it growing.  There was a little one next to it that was growing still - it looked like it had a bite taken out of it...

Anyway, I will upload the best of the two pictures I took.  I know this is most-likely not A. muscaria, but the cap looks similar.  And no I will not even taste it - I just am curious as to what it is...

Anyone have any guesses??

Looks like maybe a species of Russula.  IT is not an amanita as I noticed no ring and I did not see a volva or sac-like bulbous bottom on the stipe.

Russula's come in many colors.

Thanks, Boomer, for pointing me in that direction!  I googled it and it looks pretty dead-on!  :)
