This is a powerful speech on racism in America by AFL-CIO Secretary Treasurer Richard Trumka. It is very inspiring for those who need a little something to boost their spirits, and a reminder of why the Bush/McCain train needs to be taken off the rails permanently.

I just read a book called "the redneck manifesto"

its very good.

if hes right then America doesnt really have a race problem as much as it has a Class problem

QuoteThe Redneck Manifesto is the title of a 1997 book by author Jim Goad in which he delineates some of his views about what he sees to be the disenfranchisement of lower-class white people, and how certain aspects of American society such as racism and sexism cover what he sees as a deeper concern relating to class conflict. His thesis is that the rich elite blind the poor and cause them to fight one another instead of working together for their mutual benefit and confronting the rich elite.

Poor blacks, Poor hispanics and poor whites have so much in common and so little to fight over or about. Racism seems engineered to keep y'all divided.
when your real enemy is still robbing you of your birthright

i think Obama will highlight this.
the lack of importance of race in comparison to class.

good luck to him though. i wouldnt want his job
