So, I screwed up and didn't bring my Tricochs in early enough for the winter.  The pups don't look good, and some of the columns are decidedly mushy and no longer vertical.

To make the best of a bad situation, should I cut the tips from the mushy sections and try to re-root?

I would......... but i'd imagine theirs no hurry, the damage is already done if it's done, you'll know the extent of it here in a few days........ it can't get much worse than it already has is all I'm saying.  If you think they've got a chance, give em a few days.

I had that happen one year. Try to cut out all the mush, cut em down to the base if you have to. Even if the tips are trashed, if you got some on frozen sections you can root them. It helps to get em right side up.

I had a handful collapse but I saved all but one or two.
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

uh, if that 'mush' isn't really rotten, but just the result of the cold, you might freeze it and store it for further research...

freezing will help breakdown the cell walls to get better homogenity in any mixtures made for the analytical assay of chemical constituants...
