Hey guys,

Im new. Anyway I have never tried Salvia, but today I went to a store near me and looked at some.  Since I've never done it before, i think i should start with a quid (correct me if i'm wrong.). Well my question has to deal with the consistency of the salvia i saw. When I looked at it, it was more of like crumbled up leaves rather than the whole leaves.  Can you make these into quids? Thanks alot for the help.  :)

It is up to each person, the traditional is quid, while western people smoke it.  It is usually sold by stores and some people as crumbled leaves, these still can be used as a quid.  Might I suggest getting it from a friend or trade for it on here or another entheogen site instead of a store.  Just my opinion, but I do not support those who sell the leaf(especially flavored), as I think the plant takes offense to such treatment not to mention it promotes the "party drug" aspect.  I would read up on the plant, as it should not be taken lightly and have a good intent on why you want to use it. (Not just because you want to see what it can do) Some here say to try extract at first to get the "effect" as the plant has a reverse tolerance and people who try it at first get no effects or very little, but that is up to you. I personally started doing quids and was patient for the effects as the reverse tolerance slowly let me into her world. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks alot for the response.  I am planning on takin Salvia slowly by the way, and i undertand it is not a party drug.  I unfortunately dont really have any other access to the plant other than that store, as I don't really have any friends that know about it and I cant get it sent to my house because I still live with my parents whom i'm positive wouldn't approve.  :?  I think I will start with some quid and gradually move up in intensity.  Thanks again for the help.

Still living with your parents huh?  Well I recently got 1oz of dried blessed by shaman salvia leaves sent to me from -omit-.  The packaging had no clues as to what was inside and it came fast even though it was near the holidays and I got the slowest shipping method.  1oz of the leaves I got was $10.00+$5.00 shipping.  I would seriously reccomend checking out -omit- they are fast reliable and an incredible bunch of people work there.  I used my bank debit card to order it, but I do beleive that they accept money orders.

The leaves were a great quality still fully intact (very dry though which I hear you can cure by simply soaking them in water for a while).  I recommend these people hugely.  Good luck....

P.S.  Salvia is an incredible trip when smoked, please be carefull because I wasn't when I first did it

Is it a bad idea to buy the leaves off of eBay? I've bought a total of 1.5oz on dried leaves of Salvia for a total of $22... which sounds like what you paid for on iamshaman.com.

Also, I might be interested in buying a plant, what would be the best/cheapest way to do it?

WOW you can actually buy Salvia off of Ebay...that's crazy.  I personally would just use -Omit-.  I say this only because it's reliable and safe.

I'm surprised ebay actually lets Salvia be sold on it's site they ussually get rid of those risky auctions.

As for getting a plant i'm not so knoledgable in that area, but tons of people in here are.  The only thing I really know is that you have to water it perfectly, like you water it and then you wait for it to completely dry up and then you water it again....i'm not sure if that is correct but there is an intricate way of watering.

Put a post in TradeWinds when you want a plant though, i'm sure you could find someone to trade with.  Also they would almost definatly know more than I do about growing one.

Much Luck

Soviet, maybe send me a PM if you want any dried leaf, I have high quality dried salvia leaves, or use iamshaman, I too would not use Ebay.  Too risky, and quality varies. As far as a plant goes, it is true that some people have plants, but most hate to part with even cuttings.  Theatricum Botanicum has some good high quality plants if you are interested in ordering online, otherwise make connections and try to get one from somebody close by.  I know that usually this way the plants have a better chance of survival.

Why do people hate to part with their cuttings?

For everyone, I think it is a different reason.  I really could not give you just one, lets just say some are very cautious as to who gets them (and rightfully so)  while others just don't want to hack their plants for cuttings, and then there are others who I have no clue as to why.  Still I respect their reasons and I feel that this plant should be respected also. Peace and welcome.

Don't we have a "Don't post suppliers" rule here?

Z: I don't see any reason why crumbled leaves wouldn't be perfectly viable as a quid. It may be a bit annoying, because you may end up with the entire inside of your mouth coated with dried leaf bits, but it will work.

...I give cuttings away...but my concern is always that unless you know who they are going to....and their abilities as a grower, the plant can die very easily......and then no-one is happy.  commercial growers don't have that friendship issue...you pay your money, you get your plant, the rest is up to you.
hmm..is the wind offshore yet?
