Thanks, cen.

The odds are good on the surgery, which has become routine (at least for the surgeon):  90+% chance of significant improvement, less than 1% chance of serious complication.

Trees are definitely the answer; soon, the question will be, Gee, what are we gonna breathe now that we cut down all the trees?  Once out West I was tempted to answer those bumper stickers that say something like, "If you don't like turning trees into paper, try wiping your ass with one" with a sticker saying, "If you don't like tree huggers, try breathing sawdust, ass-wipe."  Cooler heads prevailed.

Yeah!  Tree climbing school!  They teach a cinch rope-technique which includes the means to cable-up a sleeping platform high in the sky for overnight sleeping (the final night of the course).  They run just outside of Atlanta, and I was set to go a few years back when the accident forced me to cancel.    Not being able to get back that capability with meds and physical therapy is what brought me to the OR decision.

I'm just a boy who loves to climb trees.  At a company picnic around my 50th birthday (pre-smashup) I got trashed, climbed way up and refused to come down, despite the pleading of the grownups, giving them all palpitations:  most people don't grow up, they just grow dead.

Eventually though, my drink and stick were gone, so I did.

hehe nice one space! climbing trees is the way to go, both an physical and spiritual feat climbing even the smallest trees...
the inner child always exists somewhere, but seems many were very boring as children...hehe... it is especially funny to watch parents and thier generation get  a few drinks into them and start acting like they are teens... pity more xcant embrace the child w/out needing a 'lubricator' of sorts...
