i would recommend using pereskiopsis.... and slicing the pere first..... with a clean razor.... and then sterilize... and then slice the button off... leaving on the blade....

then go over and slide the button onto the fresh pere cut......
create a "plus sign" with medical tape...... strips that are thin...... and double up over the button.... so it doesnt get all sticky with glue....

keep out of killer sun light.... and dont let rain drops knock it off either...

good luck

If you are talking  about areole grafts, yes it should work.
Never speak your mind nor hide your thoughts.

Interesting, I wouldn't of thought it'd work.  Course I've had no luck grafting in general.

p.s.  Lucky guy roach.... good luck with yer germination.  I've had luck with using the  ceramic unglazed platters w/ sifted store bought cactus soil and a little fine washed sand covering the seeds, but I'm sure theirs better soil concentrations for said cactus then what I use.  But it works for me.

lately... for the cacti and succulents...

i have a bin full of gypsum... and i add some sand to it... and limestone...

and perlite... and mix it all up... where theres 50-75 percent mineral.....

and then i rub two pumice stones together..... and make fine powder.....

and add the soil to a clay pot... and top off with about a quarter inch or so of pumice powder..... just on top.... maybe mix it in a little bit...

water real good..... then bake the whole clay pot and all for a while at 300 deg...

then once cool.... plant seeds on top..... water with mycorhizial fungi innoculant....... label the side of the pot with a "china pen"......

place the pot in a ziplock bad..... keep out of full sun ... a porch works well for this....

yup..... i like the pumice powder on top.....
