Chat Rocks My World

What i like best about chat is how one can participate in several conversations at the same time and even go and make a cup of tea and return to read (scroll up) where the discussion is up to. Unlike actual speech several people can talk at once and one can have private conversations in separate boxes or be in several chat channels at the same time.
The spiritplant's chatroom is very variable and i like it best when its witty and funny and bright.
We do get into some interesting threads there and the place is inhabited by the entheogeeks so computing is always a hot topic.  There's usually someone to help with any computer issue a chatter might have.
Spiritplants people would see some familiar names there, headed up by Nitroburn, who kindly donnated the server for chat a couple of years back (was it that long ago?). Many of the moderators from spf come to chat with varying regularity.  I am there a lot, as is Bush(Khronus), Cenny and JRL. There are also some unfamiliar people in chat, who only rarely post at the forums but are/were nevertheless spf members.
I was so hoping that the chatroom would receive a boost of new energy now that Nitro fixed the link which was for so long broken at spf.

Yeah, its hard to believe I've had that server in the corner of the room for all these years. Damn.. thats odd.. Almost 4 or 5 years hosting the IRC.

Damn, FIVE YEARS, five years, 5 years, VI Years.... Thats odd to see in writing.

Came in 19992000, started hosting chat not too long after I arrived. At most a year. so since 2000, 2001 ...  Only outages have been Power, hardware and a couple attacks. All to be expected over that length of time.

From the server:

so its been 171 days since my last power outage.
