It's funny, but I remember in 2008 how excited I was to be campaigning for and voting for Barack Obama. I lost my job like the next day, after he was elected, but it didn't stop me from being happy about what happened. It was a good time to have hope, even as times were tough.

Times are not as tough as then, yet you would not know it from the election going on. It's not so much that everyone has an opinion, that's always true, but it seems more like the whole democratic process is being treated like crap.

I'll say up front: I don't like Trump in the least. But, that said, he won his party's nomination. He has the right to run for office. He won't get my vote. But he is what the Republicans chose. Likewise with Clinton. Yet somehow people feel like . . . I don't know. It's a democracy! Don't like what's going on? Get involved. These are the two that were chosen. Neither is perfect. None of us are. The more people who don't turn their backs on the system, the better it can be.

Just some thoughts. Seems like the bitterness might stay after next Tuesday. Who gains from it? Not sure.
