Miracle Berry plant cuttings?

Hey now,

Anyone ever had any success taking a cutting from a Miracle Berry plant? I've used "the Google", which asserts that these plants can and are made from cuttings, though details are sketchy.

I've got one year-old plant which I'd like to try and propagate. I'll probably just wing it, but I'd appreciate any suggestions.

I have some 1.5 or 2 year old plants but i've never taken cuttings. I would take a fairly thick cutting if i did, at least 1/8". You might try air layering first since that often works.

Hey Stoney,

Air layering... Now there's something I haven't had much luck with. Maybe I'll give it a shot. I've had the most success with other plants by going the standard route -- cutting, hormone, stick the whole shish-kabab in a humid plastic container and wait for hell to freeze over. This is hit or miss, so maybe air-layering is a better road to hoe.

I just put together a DIY bubbler, which is percolating furiously as I write this. I'm interested to see if it works any better than directly rooting in soil. Anyone have any experience with bubblers? Any tips? I've noticed some sites say that the cut tips should be ABOVE the water-line, while others says the cut ends should be well submerged.

I built a bubbler years ago. I just put an aquarium bubble stone in the bottom of a plastic tub with holes in the top lid for inserting cuttings. I put the cut ends just above the water. The problem seemed to be a fungus got in. At first it worked great but then after the fungus it never worked again and they all died. I tried adding peroxide to the water but it was hopeless. Other people have had better luck with it.

I got some jade plant cuttings off a friend's jade plant. Don't know how to get them started. I have a couple in water and a couple in soil. Will that work?
