A Trichocereus so strong one only needs to eat 3 inches

On the LAN in my city there is an account of an individual who found something that he thought was Trichocereous Bridgisi. He was not trained in Botony so the true identity of the cactus will never be known, but he said that it had long spines and when the spines were removed the cactus looked like a despined San Pedro.

Eating 3 inches around the corn on the cob of the despined peeled fresh cactus produced a strong experience. He was amazed because this seemed like a damned strong cactus. The diameter of the cactus in question was no more than 2 and 1/2 inches. Has anyone out there ever heard of a tricho this potent?

There are some Trichocereus that potent, but they are rare, my goal is to find clones such as that and propagate them.

If you, or anybody esle has such a clone, please PM me.

Amomynous

I once met someone who live in the Andes who does much work with the cactus (in a mashup of modern and traditional ways). He used a strain that was very potent -- strong at 7 grams of dried flesh (admittedly they used only the strongest flesh, found right under the skin).

So yes, there are some pretty potent cacti out there.

If the thorns were like 3", it may have been a Peruvian torch.

The LAN said that the spines were about an inch long or so. The spines were easily removable by grasping the root of a spine group and twisting the spines off in a clump. It said that the cacti in question made San Pedro seem like a bullshit cactus and a waste of time.

EDIT The cactus sounded like it was easily as strong as peyote. It looked like this

That's Trichocereus bridgesii and the guy is talking about Trichcoereus bridgesii compared to "P.C" pachanoi... which is a shit clone of pachanoi... theres other pachanoi just as powerful or more powerful than bridgesii.

The research I've done has lead me to believe that T bridgesii "monstrose" is the most potent trich type cactus. My experience is limited, but I've done a lot of research on the matter. Some say that the 4 ribbed strain of bridgesii is very potent as well, but some of this may be symbolism too-the four winds symbol

I should have weighed in sooner, but that sure looks like my lumberjack bridgessi strain.
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

Knowing you JRL, I know that you have indeed some top quality Trichocereus... but to say that any Trichocereus is anywhere near as potent as a button is something I have a hard time believing. Coming from you, I have to take it into serious consideration, but having tried a great many of both over the years.... All I can say is wow. If this is true then you have a specimen that should be breed to the next best in your collection and then selectively backcrossed to this specimen and while I do consider it is possible as we have seen some remarkable progress made with other plants in the way of hybridizing to increase potency.... I was not aware of such work being done on such a scale with Trichocereus.....

Lumberjack is definitely stronger than PC but not three inches strong. On another note, it is gratifying to see that that the appellation Lumberjack has become common knowledge, my humble contribution.
