Hello,
I was wondering what drinking absinthe would be like?  Does it have the potency as of Ayahuasca?  Is absinthe very trippy or are the effects on the body noticed by absinthe?  Also if anyone knows where to get some absinthe please tell me as I would like to try absinthe.  Thanks.

Absinthe does not make you trip lol it's just like any other alcohol. But it is sure tasty, I have consumed over 13 bottles of it. the whole trippy absinthe thing is complete bullshit and anyone who says "real absinthe" will make you trip is retarded, sorry just have to put that out there. Absinthe does give you a different kind of drunk than other alcohols but if you think about it beer-drunk and wine-drunk are not the same either. Look up Ted Breaux he's done a shit load of research on vintage and modern absinthe. Before I was into plants absinthe was what I spent all my money on.

if you still want some check out Drinkupny dot com they have free shipping on most orders and have a few different types of absinthe.

Absinthe does not make you trip.

Absinthe IS more than just alcohol tho.... it feels like an alcohol + cannabis buzz.

Absinthe recipe

1x bottle of Pernod - aniseed flavoured spirit available most places.
2oz common wormwood - artemisia absinthum - very common plant in europe and US but must be common wormwood. Other varieties don't have the same effect.

Put the wormwood and pernod in a big jar and shake it up every day for 10 days.
Filter out the plant material.
Call everyone you know around for a party and serve it up.

Take no more than about 4 shots worth. Too much can put you out of action with thione poisoning for several days.

You'll know when the effects start because all of your little aches and pains will disappear! Thione is a tremendous analgesic. It affects different people in different ways - some flake out, others become very chatty and some will trip.

I remember laying in bed in total darkness watching long necked ladybugs running around on my pillow!

The only downside is the taste - it is extremely bitter. That's why Absinthe is flavoured with aniseed and in today's commercial brands very little thione is used. The real stuff that you make yourself is very potent.

Good luck!

umm  everything you just said is wrong.  :smoke1

To start if you had made it properly it would not be bitter(even without Anise) REAL absinthe is not bitter at all and that's not why it's flavored with anise.
Secondly "thione"(or Thujone as it is properly spelled) is not something that you add(it's not desirable to add a chemical to a drink that can cause muscle spasms convulsions and death) Thujone is present in wormwood and todays brands of absinthe when chemically analyzed have about the same amount of thujone as absinthe that was made 200 years ago.

the stuff you make is not absinthe it's just a shitty maceration of wormwood and honestly if you don't understand thujone and you don't understand what it can do to you, leave it alone. It can very easily kill you and it's not even going to make you trip before you die(thujone is NOT a hallucinogen or even a drug that will do anything pleasant)

well that's enough ranting for a little bit :smoke:3

I have had very nice effects from wormwood macerations.
I would say the effect was nothing like alcohol, and certainly very trippy..
