SWIM was on a half a miligram of Hoffman's Compound and pondered 2012. And this thought came up "the world will end but no one will notice" WTF?
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

Hi Guys,

I'm pretty new to all this 2012 stuff, but I read this article by Stanislav Grof, who's a bid deal in the world psychiatry and altered states of consciousness, and he reckons that there's going to be consciousness revolution in 2012 - now I've always been pretty sceptical about this stuff, but he makes a pretty interesting case  - way more sensible sounding than either Pinchbeck or the 2012 movie (but neither of those feets do I consider particularly hard) - and I was just wondering what you guys think?

Here's the link in case you have a minute (or 10)...

Now I have to admit that I've always been a skeptic about the predictive power of the Mayan Clander. Its like those horoscopes in the daily newspapers that just spew utterly ambiguous statements that anyone who is desperate enough to believe that there is some "bigger plan" that they're a part of, can fit to details of their own lives. But the other day I came across and article called "2012 & Human Destiny" by Stanislav Grof, the famous psychiatrist focusing on altered states - //http://bit.ly/7OC4VG. For me we finally have an article that steers away from the silly fantasies that we see from "gurus" like Daniel Pinchbeck, and instead gives a rational and calculated argument of why we should believe that the predictions of great transformation in 2012 may be true. I was just wondering what you guy might think of this - here's an excerpt:

"THE END OF THE WORLD OR CONSCIOUSNESS REVOLUTION? Instead of predicting a physical destruction of the material world, the Mayan prophecy might refer to death and rebirth and a mass inner transformation of humanity. In order to explore this idea, we have to answer two important questions, First, how could ancient Mayans two thousand years ago predict what situation humanity would be facing in the twenty-first century? And second, are there any indications that modern society, more specifically the industrial civilization, is currently on the verge of a major psychospiritual transformation?..."
