Cashew

Irie,
So this Cashew, Anacardium occidentale.

I sanded off a section of the shell, soaked it for 24hrs. It cracked & swelled & I stuffed it in a pot.
That was a little over three weeks ago.
Today it's on it's fourth pair of true leaves. And growin' crazy!
Sent a few out in trades, so I'll make this a log for it.

I love cashew fruit! I wish I lived somewhere that I could grow a tree to fruiting size.

just be carefull not to eat or touch the shell in anyway(it's sorta like poison ivy) and eating it can kill you  :lol:


looks awesome though, very curious plant.


Are you sure that's a cashew? all the ones I have seen have none pointed leaves. they sorta bowin on the ends.
also the picture  reminds of some other plant........ :cool2

the brown shell in the pot to the right of the sapling looks like a dried fruit that swim's foaf got
she told me she is going to try the same thing
