We've been discussing this over at the Lycaeum too. It is, indeed, a UL tale, and a pile of BS for sure. However, about half of the media mogul fear-mongers  :twisted:  seem to have jumped on this. Thus, just proving how stupid they really are.  :roll:

Yes, but the UL does not concern smoking the dried shit, but rather huffing the vapors. Indoles do not readily vaporize off at room temperature. The UL may well be based upon stories about poor African kids huffing sewage, but but the idea of it being popular among kids in the USA in utter nonsense.  :roll:

In 2003 i was having a discusiion with the then boyfriend of my sister

He was from KL and was very keen to know how to identify the shrooms he'd encountered back in Malaysia

He told me stories about this practice among youth in Northern Malaysia, near the border with Thailand

so either the myth went global at least 6 years ago - and made it to the drug addled youth of KL and Nth Peninsular malaysia

or there is an element of truth in it
