I get logged out all the time. Anyone else?

Fairly often here too. I have good days and bad. On the bad days, I just give up. On good days, I stay logged in all day. If the software gave us a permanent cookie, that should work. I assume that's what it's supposed to do but don't forget that many people come through proxies and various browsers so it can be tricky.

Yeah it's still a problem... no doubt.

It does appear to be a cookie problem too... I just don't know why though. I have adjusted the length the cookies should stay good for, up to a month, and they still seem to show up on my machine with only a few hours before they expire.

I will fix this.... it just might take a little time.... damn cookies

kemp

k, I think I have the bitches under my control now... we should all be able to stay logged in for almost a year now.
I know that's overkill but they were not complying with my requests for a month....

Let me know if that helps at all  :)

JRL

It was so bad that it would log me off in the middle of sessions, usually when i tried to post something.

Tonight so far so good.

I think we have a winner. It's been a couple days with no problem.

On a side note, the smilies do not work for me. I click on them and nothing happens except the screen jumps.

I'n still getting kicked from time to time, though its much better.

Yeah, I just had to re-login but it has been better. First time in about 3 days.
Stoney

kemp

Well... at least it's better..... still, I want to get it right.
Will work on this more when I have some time.

Thanks for the updates!

Stonehenge

Today, it's not better at all. I've had to log in a whole bunch of times, sometimes after a few minutes. For me it's the worst it's been so far.
Stoney

kemp

Hmm, not a thing has changed since about a week ago.
Can you try deleting all your Spiritplants cookies and then logging in again?
See what that does....

How about you JRL? Is it any worse?

Weird thing is, for me, I haven't had to log in in about 3 days....

Can someone else chime in here and let us know how the rest of you are doing?
I really have no idea how wide spread the problem is.....

Syd

I've been wanting to chime in for some time. I have nor have I had any log in problems. I use Firefox and I also only block 3rd party cookies, all other cookies are free to do as they wish until I eat them.

Stonehenge

Syd, I'm glad it works for you. kemp may not ever be able to fix it so it works perfectly for everyone. If JRL and I are the only ones having trouble, then it's probably on our end. I just deleted the spirit plants cookie and we will see. The odd thing is I haven't had to log in again. We shall see.

Maybe it's like in the Dilbert cartoon in which the spam filter became self aware and starting causing mischief?

JRL

Now its worse than it ever was, I get logged out all the time, I have just logged in maybe 10 times in 10 minutes.

i was just asked to log in, but it's the first time in ages.
my first suspect was maybe an automatic cookie cleanup on my computer (something i didn't ask for), but then i remembered jrl's dilemna.

interesting.
