Greetings Seekers,
Hello from Vancouver BC Canada,  I am not sure if you are aware that the Buddhists believe they have located the center of the universe. Check out this link. I e-mailed Dr. Rick Strassman author of DMT- The Spirit Molecule and he had not heard of this claim but would be checking it out.I realize this is a tourist site but it is a great stepping off point to google the other info sites. I believe that it is in fact exactly what the monks say it is, and based on hundreds of years of first nations oral tradition that states this area is sacred and a "Fountain of Life", with caves wall paintings etc. Just imagine if you would for a moment. Mckenna's timewave/Mayan calander needs a physical epicenter to reach 0- a third dimension not just a time and date but a location. My theory is that this is ground zero
where time/space
will suspend and the cosmic
energy will go from cyclical to linear forming a consciousness corridor from one end of the universe to the other. The Mayan calander suggests an energy alignment to the center of the galaxy. Here is my guess, its aligning to the center of the universe. If you are at this spot, right time right date,Dec.21 2012, 23:00hours be chanting the most powerful mantra in the Buddhist Tradition the Prajna-Paramita:
Tadyatha Gate Gate Para Gate Para Sam Gate Bodhi Sva Ha! Why? I believe This mantra will vibrate your soul to the frequency required to potentially travel through the corridor. From the phenomenal world (sangsara) to the beyond phenomenal(nirvana). O Wisdom departed departed departed to the other shore disembarked on the other shore Sva-Ha, is the literal translation! Think of Savona BC Canada as the universal cosmic belly button and the consciousness corridor as the cosmic umbilical chord. Hope this message finds you all well.

So the center of the entire universe is located in Canada, eh? And I suppose the sun once again rotates around the earth? The world has many places of power. One may even be more powerful than the others. But the center of the universe?

quote from the link provided: In 1988, a small but high-ranking group of monks arrived to try to convince the owner of the Vidette Lake Gold Mine Lodge to donate the land and even made initial arrangements to have the Dalai Lama who happened to be in Seattle at the time, to visit by helicopter. When a deal could not be reached to acquire the land and resort, the monks called off the visit.

...... So while the center of the universe was located, the Dalai Lama only wanted to visit the site after it was acquired by the monks?

And this all ties in to TM's rants?

Nice story, dude, but fantasy, none the less, imo. And the only links I found were for more tourist info.

Kind of like the guy who came around earlier in the year claiming we were all going to die when they turned on the gigantic atom smasher or what ever it was that was going to end life on earth as we know it that time.

Imo, this is what happens when we fail to stay grounded while experiencing psychedelics. (I've done it too.)

Btw, welcome to spr.

Thankyou for your reply, this however is fact, and not my story. This is a stated fact that the Buddhists have in fact located the center of the universe, through their own occult verifications. I suggest you get off the sidelines and instead of criticizing get out here and experience this for yourself. This is the power spot and you bet very little is known about it. Here is another fact. Roland Emmerich director of Independence Day just arrive in town (Vancouver BC Canada to begin filming his latest blockbuster --- 2012!

While it might be fact that the Buddhists claim to have located the center of the universe, (and scientifically provable by interviewing the monks in question for verification) don't confuse that kind of "fact" with the type that says the earth orbits the sun and not the other way around.

So, I know it as fact that the center of the universe is really a hog lot in nw Iowa, U$A. At least according to our calculations. And I can prove it with this formula I've drawn up.

Sounds like the prefect place to film a movie, eh?

The translation of gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha is: gone, gone, gone over, gone all the way over, enlightenment, Svaha! (svaha is like hooray, or something). It is from the heart sutra.
I don't remember if Tadyatha is written before this line used as a mantra, but it is, no matter what, not concidered part of the mantra.

As for the article. Maybe some buddhists say, that the center of the universe is in Canada. I once heard the end of the world is somewhere in Norway. Cute stories, and I bet there is a form of logic to back it up. But sometimes, when logic meets reality, it has to go through a metanoia to give itself up for a logic dealing with reality also. Or what in buddhist terms can be called a genjo-koan.

And if you have a "theory" that point is point 0. Then please enlighten us. Or else it is nothing but a postulate. So you give us a postulate and a guess. And mention random ideas about 2012, McKenna, a mantra... Dude. You actually say nothing. It is a very good example of empty words, and I mean in the meaning of nihil, not sunya, words.

Right on, Satori.

The earth is covered with places of power, imo. If that's the game, I'll maybe put my money on Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado to be the host site of the upcoming 2112 cosmic olympics.

However, my calculations lead me to the conclusion that events in 2012 will usher in the dawn of an alteration of the PERCEPTION of the space/time continuum, rending the current reality (necessitating a single physical point of space linking with a specific time) null and void. One physicality becomes all points on the 3-d grid at any point in time. Singularity is achieved. Welcome to the fourth dimension. Please leave your shoes at the door.....

My understanding of the translation of Gate. Gate. Paragate. Parasumgate. Bodhi. Svaha! is as follows:

Gone, Gone, Gone Beyond, Gone Altogether Beyond. Enlightenment. Svaha!

Just slightly different than yours, Satori, and no Tadyatha, is not a part of the mantra.

I am a "Buddhist" and I always thought that the center of the Universe, and the Entirety of the Universe was located in The state of The Natural Great Perfection, which could be in Canada, and probably is, as it is omnipresent.  :P

Satori

Hey!
I checked my sanskrit text, and dictionaries and all.. And Tadhyata (with a long a in the end, I just don't have the font for it...) just means "It is as follows" or something. Because the Sutra is leading us to the mantra that is said in Perfect Wisdom "In this way" and then "gate gate..."
But yes.. I think your translation is also good.
That's how it is with sanskrit, and many languages very different from our modern western languages, when it comes to translating.. there is no one correct way, many good translations and many bad ones as well.

I agree absolutely Satori. :)

Many good, many bad, but both of ours are acceptable. :P

After a little google session, I'm wondering if the author of this thread might be a shill for the movie mentioned above.
