If anyone is interested I have access to wild pokeweed plants which I can harvest seeds from.

It's very common everywhere.

I've heard it can be considered toxic.
Some species are supposed to have been used medicinally, however so was lead and mercury =)

I've heard that this plant is a very powerful medicine for many illnesses.  People use one drop of tincture the moment they start feeling sick.   Larger doses will cause serious purging.  You can also make an ink from the berries.

Im pretty sure the berries could be used to make a purple dye.
