a thought of a sunset in vivid glory
rare blooming flowers
car slows into view
a friendly wave
a sudden burst of cows and canaries

a spirit friend passes
and another
we hold one another in a forum embrace
a face i've beheld close up or not
a friendship sails between oceans

As the neighbours rake the lawn
busy with the outer sense of order
the inner chaos slows down for a spell
