I was watching the news this morning on NBC and Katie Couric was doing an expose about an exciting new sport in South America.  It is called Poynock, and is played with the hollowed out shell of a coconut that has been set in the sun to dry for ten days.  After this curing period a fragrant oil is spread over the Poynock ball (that's the name given to the coconut) and the women and children of the village dance and sing so as to bless the ball, and endow it with as much Hetoo as is possible.  Later, after everyone has gone to sleep, the tribe elder sneaks out into the middle of the village and smashes the Poynock ball with a large rock.  As might be expected, the next morning is filled with groans and cries as the hard work and preparation that has gone into the making of the Poynock ball has all been for naught.  Consequently, nobody has ever actually played Poynock, being that no Poynock ball has ever lasted past the day of Hetoo.  Even still, the game is catching on and teams are popping up all over Brazil, Chile, and Argentina.  There is even a small community of Brazilian immigrants in California that are starting up a team.  They are called the "Bay Area Bombers".
