Makes: Eight 1/2 - cup servings

2 cups Sugar
2 cups Water
1 1/2 cup fresh grapefruit juice
1 tablespoon fine grated zest  (use veg. peeler)

Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.  Reduce heat to low and simmer until sugar dissolves, about 3-4 minutes.  Cool completely.  When cool add grapefruit juice and zest - stir to combine.  Pour into ice cream maker freezer bowl, the the machine on and mix until thick - 25+ minutes.  Freeze for 2 hours- serve.

Also works with lemons...

Sounds like that would make an excellent Kava-Smoothie

I've found Kava Kava mixed with chocolate icecream... the kava needs to be fine, but if it isn't it can be ground in a coffee grinder first.  Make sure to let the grinder sit for a minute so you don't get a lung full of kava ;)
