Just a quick shout out to all of you who have ever thought New Zealand is a nice place to visit but would need to work here to be able to afford the trip.
We currently need 24,000 workers to pick fruit in Hawkes Bay; the season begins on Feb 10th.
I dont know too much about it myself but here is a site with all the details.

What, don't they have any Mexicans there? Do they take felons?

Thanks Cassie, but a 19 hour plane ride isn't in the cards right now- but we hope to do it within the next 10 years or so! ;)

Funny--- me and the "wife" were talking about the possibility of relocating to NZ just last night.  Of course, we'd probably be trying to look for career-oriented employment instead of seasonal work.  I wonder how hard it'd be for two professional U.S. citizens to get work visas, with an eye to a long-term (maybe permanent?) residency?

Ah, pipe dreams....not as much fun without the pipe!  :)
What I need is a strong drink and a peer group....

I'd love to go to NZ.  I'm a carpenter but i'd pick fruit anyday.

I would pick fruit at your house any day.

Much love and nostalgia.
