I just got over a terror of a 48 hour flu virus that just knocked me flat.  It kept me in bed, under a mountain of covers with the bed board heater on, for at least that long.  It was as if my brain matter itself ached and fought off the virus.  I was so tired from resting I had to at times just doze in a chair.  Well at anyrate, after about 30 hours of this, I lucidly recall laying in bed, playing with this ball of texture energy.  It was tactile in nature, varying only in the sensations in those realms...... sometimes pleasant in texture, sometimes unpleasant, but still enjoyable in it's unpleasantness.....hard to describe otherwise.  But it was so beyond normal sensation in it's purity and pleasure it was simply otherworldly.  Not unlike what someone might experience under the influence of say, a phenethylamine...... er uhm, that is,  from what I've read about phenethylamines.

I can't recall at the moment if this is the first time I've ever had fever induced altered states/hallucinations, but is interesting to ponder.

Anybody else care to share their fever/sickness induced experiences?

I wonder what the pathophysiology behind such things are.  I mean, I suspect they are common place but that some people may not recognize or remember them.  I also wonder if it's the fever aspect that causes it, if OD-ing on cyan pepper capsules would potentially bring about symiliar sensations.  (I know, that last bit is a stretch, but still.)
