yeah...

It's really sad, but this is a battle that can't really be won... taking action and lobbying/educating on salvia would just make it MORE watched, and probably speed up the process... yet... trying to keep it low-key is just giving The Man that much more dominion over 'educating' the public about it :(

I would really like to try the quid method again, but I have a very limited amount of leaf left (maybe 1-2g of plain leaf) that was donated to me by another member of the past incarnation of this board (and I really don't like the idea of 'buying' salvia, nor do I have the funds to attempt, and likely fail, growing)

not that I have any extract, but has anyone tried quidding with extract enhanced leaves? this is something I've thought about... because when I tried quidding before, the mass of leaves plus the saliva was very difficult to handle without swallowing or dripping... so I think a smaller amount would be a little easier that way... would something like a tea-bag to keep the crushed leaves together work?

would that I had enough for a good quid left... but, I am quite enticed to journey into Salvia Space myself tonight or in the near future... likely, you'll be hearing more about that ;)

It's been quite a while since I have spent much time on this nook of the net, but I will definitely WHOLE-heartedly agree that there should be sticky links to appropriate Erowid vaults... I've noticed more and more recently that people I am acquainted with who show a lot of interest in entheogens have never even HEARD of Erowid, which is a shame, as it is most likely the BEST free resource for entheogen information...

in short, adding links would not only inform people of facts about the subjects we discuss, but also inform them of a great resource to FIND those facts in the future

I recently came across some P. Arundinacea seeds at a retailer's garden center and remember reading about it a small ammount at erowid as a DMT containing plant... however, this plant doesn't get much attention, so I was wondering if it would be possible (read: reasonable) for a person to extract DMT from this type of plant and what it is about this plant that causes its exclusion from most discussions about DMT

I'd have to agree that supporting the troops and supporting the war are two completely separate things...

the war is wrong, not many people here are going to argue with that... but as was said, we're talking about humans... both iraqis and americans... some of both are bad people... many aren't bad people... I've never been in a war zone, but I know that is a kill or be killed environment... especially in an urban geurilla war where you don't know who is trying to kill you or who wants your help... I'm not american, but I support the soldiers... which is to stay I support life...

I don't know about you, but I have a feeling that if I had a gun, and was in a situation where I thought someone was going to kill me... I'd more than likely fear for my life enough to kill them first... if they weren't trying to kill me, at least I can still go home to my loved ones... I know, the other person won't be able to... but the fight or flight instinct is too strong in most people...

but, once again... the war is wrong... without the troops being there, there would be no war... the civil war would likely simmer down after the the occopying force left... not to mention... all this is to "protect america and the world" right? well... when I want to protect someone, the first thing I do generally ISN'T to throw right into harms way...

well... I've only tried it a few times myself, with only threshhold results, so I can't say I'm expert, but I can tell you what I've personally experienced...

I tried smoked plain leaf on a couple occasions and a quid/smoked plain leaf once... I'd still consider myself a 'first time user' since I haven't had a breakthrough experience... what I'm saying is that for ME, plain leaf was not at all too much... high strength extract-enhanced leaves may be a little much though...

what I've heard about tinctures is that it lasts longer, but comes on a lot slower, so you won't lose control as quickly... I've heard a lot of people say that it's the best way to venture into the realm of the green shepherdess... but that's only hear-say... I have never touched a tincture

Quote from: "Hyper_Eye"what is the difference between smoking regular leaf and smoking extract?

well, with 21x extract, you'd need to smoke 21x less extract than leaf... theoretically... of course, if you're smoking leaf there's also the salvinorin that is metabolized between draws, so really, less than 21x less...

this means it's easier to achieve the effects and also is healthier for you since you are inhaling much less smoke...

on a side note, are you experienced with salvia? 21x extract is very strong... actually one of the strongest concentrations I've seen (25xand 30x being the only stronger ones, and those aren't really too common)

now, I'm no salvia expert by any means, but I don't think I'm wrong in suggesting going easy with a 21x extract to start if you're not very acquainted with the green goddess

hehe... outlaws, hippies and botany geeks... I think I'm a combo of the first two, slowly absorbing the last... but ya can't deny there is usually a hint of spirituality in most the posts... and that's just how I like it, and why I'm sticking around here

I'm doing a hell of a lot more learning here than teaching... I usually just sit back and absorb the wealth of information rather than trying to add anything, since usually the very little I know is common knowledge... regardless, you can expect me to be here for the long haul... perhaps one day I'll be one of the wise elders ;)

yeah, I don't think kratom needs anything YET...

even right now, the salvia forum doesn't really get enough activity to warrant its own forum...

I imagine if the kratom posts become overwhelming, a new forum should be created, but for now, I wouldn't call it a priority

edit: should this be maybe in the site forum?

Quote from: "TooStonedToType"Anyway, I certainly consider the guidance of the Shamans that have gone before me, but these aren't hard and fast rules that I follow on my path.

my belief is that all (or at least mostly all) religions have truths and deductions... some also have blatant lies used to control the followers as well, but I'm not gonna talk about that right now...

since religion isn't something you can really approach with scientific method, most of the things learned and followed in religion are just things that seem to be true, that just continue to be followed... Salvia seems to be especially unstable with easy and difficult experiences... what I read about that sex rule is that if you have sex within the time period after, your next journey will be a difficult one... it's possible the first shamans that experimented with Salvia as an ally had that happen to them a few times and started following the rule and the knowledge just got passed down from generation to generation... doesn't mean it's true for everybody...

in my opinion, religion should be something somewhat fluid... not bound by strict traditions... keep the truths, weed out the not-so-truths and obliterate oppressive values, where they exist
