I've heard that smoking is the fast track to Lady Salvia, but being a first timer, I'd like a slower introduction.  I've been researching on Erowid as well as other sites regarding trip reports and have noticed that some people have such strong experiences via the smoked method, they cannot conceive of using a tincture/extract, which could cause the experience to go on longer than 10-15 minutes.

What method did you use the first time, which method do you prefer now, and why?

Respectfully,

well... I've only tried it a few times myself, with only threshhold results, so I can't say I'm expert, but I can tell you what I've personally experienced...

I tried smoked plain leaf on a couple occasions and a quid/smoked plain leaf once... I'd still consider myself a 'first time user' since I haven't had a breakthrough experience... what I'm saying is that for ME, plain leaf was not at all too much... high strength extract-enhanced leaves may be a little much though...

what I've heard about tinctures is that it lasts longer, but comes on a lot slower, so you won't lose control as quickly... I've heard a lot of people say that it's the best way to venture into the realm of the green shepherdess... but that's only hear-say... I have never touched a tincture

I'm still a beginner also, smoking  is my preference, but I am trying other methods, such as chewing the leaves with ginger.

Most folks say that extract launches you much further than quidding, but those with more experience would disagree.  On he plus side, what insights you might recieve, are easier to bring home with you. It takes practice, and you must like the taste of bitter green leaves.

I'm a newby as well. When I smoked Salvia for the first time I got immediate results, they were pleasant from regular leaf. There is that awesome warm feeling as if you are being embraced, you get tunnel vision maybe, and you are completely relaxed. I can't describe the feeling. But what alarms me most is the inability to talk, you feel good, the effects happen so fast. I feel stuck in place...
Does this happen to anyone? At low doses, I get this feeling that there is a wall going down the middle of my body. I feel physically bisected, and this overwhelming anxiety, then I calm down. Am I just getting too nervous, or does the drug give me that illusion? When I have smoked salvia with music on I see a pendulum going across my eyes, it moves in the exact beat of the music.

I hate to scare the other newbies who read this, over all I feel completely relaxed, I fear mostly for my safety so I don't do it much. The experience is wonderful, I like the warmth it gives, and this wonderful peaceful feeling; I feel more contemplative and more alive after the experience. Should I smoke salvia alone in a field...haha

Should I smoke salvia alone in a field.......................... no problem, maybe have a sitter nearby.......under the swimming stars is great also...........or at home in silent darkness......no music or distractions will let you accept things a lot easier.

Hi everyone... This is my first post, woo hoo :-D

I have smoked the raw dried leaves without adding any extra potency and I do not get to much from it.  I have to smoke to much in order to get to where I want to be.  Although it is nice sometimes to not have a full blown "trip" or whatever you would like to call it.

I suggest using the x5 or x10 for your first time.  The first time I used it I smoke out of a regular pipe x10 and it was amazing.  Although I do agree with one person post about not being able to talk, I was unable to as well.  I was also unable to keep my head up BUT I did it outside and had a pillow directly behind me (i had read that you would want to lay down).  I think that the quid method is great but a huge waste of leaves (for me and in my opinion).  I think that smoking it is by far the easiest and best for me. :)

Welcome Green Thumb:  Good to see another Fl. afficionado of The Green Goddess :o ---   Forgive me if I am in error, but I'm supposing you are fairly new to the S.D. experience eh?  While I don't put this out as some hard and fast rule; it's my position that you will more than likely find that with the reverse tolerance effect kicking in, you will be able to achieve substantial 'lift-off' with ever snaller/less potent concentrations..  Ha!!  I used to toke 5-8 bongloads of 8X whilst quidding 1/8 to 1/4 oz of plain leaf...  Now, a few tokes of plain leaf, smoked as a joint, with no big 'high heat/deep and long inhale', sends me 'OUT THERE'  :) ----  Good Luck -n- Good Glow----------  senorsal

Hi there :)

Well, not really knew to it.  But I don't use it THAT often lol  now and then I go months without it.   So that may have something to do with the reverse tolerance not being as quick or as much.
