Cactus ID - Pictures

Here are some cactii I just bought. Dont know what any of them are. You guys know? Lets call them A, B, C - from left to right.











I'll try to get higher quality photos later on. If you need more photos of any one, just tell me.

"A" appears to warrant further investigation, imo.

Yeah, "A" is definatly what I thought would be most interesting. Then B looked kinda like a Peruvian, just flat ribs.

I thought A was a San Pedro, but the notches are below the areol, instead of above. Does that matter?

It matters. But the notches appear to be above the areol in the photo, if'n I squint just right....

I don't know... The ribs look pretty thin on a couple of shots and more robust, like a pedro on others. A photo with tripod ro at least something ot rest the camera on might do the trick.

None of those look like trichocereus to me, the ribs are all too narrow.
'A' is prolly a cereus rather than a san pedro but they are lovely plants all the same.

I dunno about it being a Cereus:

A - Trichocereus pachanoi
B - Stenocereus griseus
C - Pilosocereus species of some sort

So you're the cactophile! Looks like some Positive IDs. The third one, when looking on google, I would guess would be Pilosocereus Azureus or Pilosocereus Pachycladus.

Thanks for the IDs, been waiting for a sound one. You sure A is San Pedro?

No I am not so sure that A is a Trichocereus pachanoi, but it might be.

In fact, I am more positive about B and C than I am about A.

As for being THE cactophile, I am not.
My I adore them and enjoy growing them, I am not a resident expert in their taxonomy.

He is one of a few experts in the taxonomy of culturally used cacti.

I have not seen him here for quite some time though he does tend to be pretty ubiquitous.
I place a bit more faith in the verdicts of a few others but Mike knows his stuff.
