And i must admit i'm really impressed at the selection and variety.  I currently have some san pedro, peruvian torch, trich terscheckii, trich puqueinsis, bishops cap, and astrophytum asterias.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some new additions to my garden, in case i am missing any particularly important plants.  what are some of the most important plants at the core of a sacred/psychoactive cactus/succulent collection?

Just order any cacti with a clone name or clone number/letter.
Bound to be something good in there ;)

Hey, jonah.

I'd look for an obrigonia denegreii (sp?) as well.

And don't forget the T bridgessi in all of its glorious forms, including monstrose a, b and crested.

T lumberjack is a favorite hybred of mine, too.

I would of loved to have gotten the T. Lumberjack meself. I always thought it was an in joke,an in a way, I quess I`m still not wrong. There was a ' T.lumberjack, apparently, a Bridgessii/peruvianus hybrid from JRl`s neck of the woods.

     Right now, from a particular nursery,I am aquiring a Pachanoi/Bridgesioid hybrid,a 'pure' Bridgesii,and for 'highbrow' culture,a Strybing,very close to a Juul`s Giant.

But I`d still would like a T. Lumberjack.

" Oh, I am a Lumberjack,a Lumberjack is what I am. I love to work all day, drink all night, and wear woman`s cloth"...whoops,wrong culture.

i`m suppossed to be thinking about cacti. Oh well...bad Monty Python!!!

Nice selections, from the RPL I take it.

I don't think that Lumberjack is available through them though.
I may get a chance to recieve a cutting of the original plant that founded this clone name. It is out west somewhere...

Other than this it seems I am screwed, seeing as how the only people who seem to have it won't trade with me despite my having well over 30 types of Trichocereus species, hybrids and cultivars to trade with. Oh well... some people are cool, and some aren't.

LOL I was going to get your name on the first pup that formed on my lumberjack, AE. And I don't usually trade. I prefer to gift. But some things never change and some people are cool, while others aren't.

I might be persuaded to send out a couple when I get back from vacation middle of August.

So I guess my jokingly refering to this clone as T Lumberjackious has stuck!  It's a good one grows easily and fast and filled with powerful sacramental sunshine.
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

The name fits, imo. Etoilation has never been a problem with mine. Even the summer it was left in mango canyon for the duration. It has kept its fine, imposing figure even after making the transition to the humid prairie from the dry central valley of cali.

ps: If'n I whine a little bit, can I maybe get another, brotha? hehe

I'd rather trade, or even reciprocate for a gifted clone.

I had read previously that the clone A bridgesii was the penis clone, being quite phallic and having few spines, the other clone (B) seems to clump quite a bit, and is not very phallic or penis like in appearance, and I had thought that this was not the penis clone but was the clumping monstrosus clone.

What is the deal with this?

Do people just call any monstrosus bridgesii a penis clone? I find it a bit confusing. Not that common names mean very much anyway.

I often get better than 80% germination from thier seed, but on a few plants I have had less than 3 % germination. Trout has told me that the seed keeps well for a long time and that germination problems are due to factors other than age.

What Tricho seeds did you get? I am curious. I have a bunch of their seeds waiting to be sown myself, and have a bunch of seedlings, some to grow, others to trade. (I never sell)

well... i know of two penis clones

the A...... very phallic.... and one foot or longer pups....doesnt clump near as much... i gave mine to a member on the boards here... after i screwed it all up...

and now i have clone B.... it is also very phallic... the new growth is very smooth and bright green.... and some thorns at the bottom..... it clumps way more i find.... and grows faster too it seems....

yup..... it is a bridgesii monstrosus.....

peace yall

I'm not absolutely sure, but clone A is IME usually the one refered to as the penis clone. We prefer to call it the " Grow-Your-Own-Dildo-Cactus"

:D

Clone B would appear to painful for most women to refer to it as a "penis" clone.

Clone A is kind of a weird one. The only pups I've seen of it just seem to grow out of a split in the middle of the cactus body, which makes sense, I suppose, since there are no real areoles to produce pups from.

Hmmm. I know what you mean,VPirate.Dammed(!!) it looks painful and damaging for the stem, column whatever ya want to call it. Nasty Birth,so to speak.

But mine do aim for the arioles. thei`re there,it`s just they don` follow an order(that I can discern) on the 'column'. there may well be something under the skin, say,a vestigal rib, that`s something I`d(or you) might need  to find out. Oddly enough, I was wondering once when I was reading Trout`s notes, but I didn`t see anything, except mabe an allusion to the same randomness, so I`ll check again.
