This is pretty exciting. My main band, Johnny Favorite has been hired to do 2 private events at Phil Lesh's club in San Rafael, Terrapin Crossroads, one in December and one in January.
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

Its nice you are experiencing success. Don't let the life of a rock star change you, jrl. Even though it must be fun. Movie star too.

Excellent gig to you JRL.
Send my regards to Lesh!

Rock star, lol. I'm happy just making a living playing the music I love with the people I love for the people I love. I'm sure not getting rich but its a hell of a ride. The people i get to play with, several different bands every week, are startlingly good. I know this: we make great music and that's what matters, the love of the art.

I've heard that Phil is quite approachable and hangs out at the club a lot playing chess. Since they're private events, I have no idea if he will be there. But he plays there a lot according to the calendar. Meeting him is one dream, yet to happen.

I'm gonna see if i can find clips of some of the music I play for your dining and dancing pleasure.

Lost my boots in transit, babe,
smokin\' pile of leather.
Nailed a retread to my feet
and prayed for better weather...

We're pretty excited about it. Its a bright spot, on the other hand the club we have been doin weeklys at for 6 years is closing, so its nice to have something cool to look forward to.
