i know its not an insect... scale bugs..... its corky looking... whitish..... appears only on unhealthy plants i guess.... if perfect conditions... it doesnt develop

i once was told use alcohol .... i didnt work... then i was told to cut it off... and then clean with alcohol... bad idea....

i tried picking one off the other day on my clumping penis clone.... its fucked it up cuase it had a black spot that was growing on it.... so today i used a clean razor and gently sliced off a small surface piece...... and left alone to dry

i was thinking of putting some rooting hormone powder in it to keep off fungi and such....

any ideas as to how to clean this shit up??

stonehenge.... you the man!

Try sulfur dust, not rooting hormone.

I've seen black blisters form sometimes. I think it could be due to too much sun. There is no cure far as I know. If it's a fungus then sulfur might help. I've seen the whitish scabs too. Maybe some day I'll find out the answers to things like that.

Yeah, the only thing I use rooting hormone for on my cacti is as a drying agent. They don't usually seem to need much help setting roots.

Unlike some of those pesky leafy plants.
