On this week's show:

* New Rock Album: The Flaming Lips, *The Terror* (2013) . . . On their 13th record, the Lips peer into the abyss & reports what is peering back . . . a sonically lovely work, one of those rarities that makes existential mullings into rock & roll bliss . . . the Lips bring the power every time out . . .

* Classic Rock Album: Grateful Dead, *Wake of the Flood* (1973) . . . The Dead had lost Pigpen, their beloved bluesy keyboardist,  but kept along with Keith & Donna Godchaux coming on board . . . among the classics on this record are the gorgeous "Eyes of the World" (favorite of my acid guru Hartlee), & the epic "Weather Report Suite" . . .

*Storybook Time*: Chapter 13 of *The Acid Diaries: A Psychonaut's Guide to the History & Use of LSD* by Christopher Gray. . .

* Readings from *Labyrinthine* fixtion & *Many Musics* poems . . . & this week's featured artist is a second helping (the first was back on 3/25/2006) of rocking sweets from the Electric Light Orchestra . . . there are greening things all around Bungalow Cee, the springtime compelling one to look & love & yearn . . .

On this week's show:

* New Rock Album: The Mountain Goats, *Transcendental Youth* (2013) . . . I missed out on this California band until recently when a chance listening to this new album floored me, a romping, delightful time, all sorts of treats to be enjoyed on this record. . .

* Classic Rock Album: Oasis, *(What's the Story) Morning Glory?* (1995). . . It took me awhile to give the early Oasis records some attention, which I have, & this album stands out for its energy & artistry beginning to end . . . Oasis is a band that deserves the attention they get . . .

*Storybook Time*: Continuing Chapter 13 of *The Acid Diaries: A Psychonaut's Guide to the History & Use of LSD* by Christopher Gray. . .

* Readings from *Labyrinthine* fixtion & *Many Musics* poems . . . & this week's featured artist is Fleetwood Mac & songs from their just-released EP. . . this is show number 450, which is a perplexing number of shows to have done, & yet there are so many more to come . . .

On this week's show:

* New Rock Album: Teenage Fanclub, *Shadows* (2010) . . . Been since the 7/23/2005 show that this Scottish band has been featured here . . . somehow I missed their 2010 release but here it is & it's fine as fine can be . . . sweet rockers, sweet harmonies, the dark undertow that keeps the music rooted & makes it even better . . . what a fine, fine record . . .

* Classic Rock Album: Built to Spill, *Ultimate Alternative Wavers* (1993). . . This show has featured a number of this great Idaho band's recent albums, but this time around it's their first album that gets the spotlight . . . an hour long, yet only ten songs, yet this album just blows me out the doors! messy, loud, pretty in a scruffed up sort of way, a garage-y punkish glory of a thing, surely the result of many bongs, many shrooms, & a great deal of talent & vision . . . behold its wonders . . .

*Storybook Time*: Continueing Chapter 13 of *The Acid Diaries: A Psychonaut's Guide to the History & Use of LSD* by Christopher Gray. . .

* Readings from *Labyrinthine* fixtion & *Many Musics* poems . . . & this week's featured artist is Elton John, more fine tunes from his glory years  . . . lucky me, I spent the morning at a table once driftwood, looking out to morning trees & flowers, readying this show in complete calm, fine focus . . .
