*New Rock Album: Delta Spirit, *Delta Spirit* (2012) . . . Featured multiple times on this program (most recently 2010's *History from Below* LP and *The Waits Room* EP), this San Diego band returns with a new, fine, twisty album, a tale of two halfs, the first stretch of songs generally slower and more pensive, eventually giving way to a spate of great rockers . . . another of many bands one could offer up as refut to any who think rock and roll ain't alive and well  . . .

*Classic Rock Album: Sting *...Nothing Like the Sun* (1987) . . . It was sad seeing The Police break up in the early '80s, I was a great fan . . . then Sting stepped up and began releasing great solo albums to fill the gap . . . this, his second album, is just all sorts of good and powerful, loaded with pretty songs, funny songs, political cries, mysterious love songs, and a great Jimi Hendrix cover . . . a great album in a string of great albums . . .

*Storybook Time: Chapter Twenty-Five of *The Brotherhood of Eternal Love, From Flower Power to Hippie Mafia: The Story of the LSD Counterculture* by Stewart Tendler & David May. . .

*Readings from *Labyrinthine* fixtion & *Many Musics* poems . . . & this week's featured artists are some of those featured in the great new Bob Dylan tribute album, *Chimes of Freedom* . . . good to be back after a week off . . . ready to roll this shambling audio caravan straight into spring . . . right straight in . . .

*Classic Rock Album: The Grass Roots, Feelings* (1968) . . . This Los Angeles band had a lot of hits in the late 60s and early 70s, and this album captures them stretching out, plenty of love songs mixed with a desire to really rock the studio and get to that major somewhere place musicians seek . . . sweet stuff indeed . . .

*New Rock Album: Bruce Springsteen, *Wrecking Ball* (2012) . . . This album is flat-out great, seems like the one Springsteen has been aiming for, for awhile now . . . it's big & brash at times, small & dear at others . . . full of anger at the easy cruelties of the world, the ones that are not new, yet never go away . . . The Boss, despite the fury of his lyrics, sounds happy, sounds like he is doing well what he loves most doing . . . good for him and his band . . .

*Classic Rock Album: Aerosmith, *Toys in the Attic* (1975) . . . They were called Boston's Bad Boys back when, and this album is one of the reasons . . . Aerosmith has never been simply a metal band, more like a hard rock band in the old sense, the Led Zeppelin sense . . . there are too many subtle touches & tricks to confuse this record with one of the many imitations that came later . . .
