SO, mrs lw comes home last night all amped-up about this song she'd heard on the radio while driving home. She starts singing it to me...

"Insane in the membrane... Do you know that one?"

"Sure," I say. It's Cypress Hill from The Temple of Boom."

"I want to download it. "You'll probably like it. Just about all their songs are about weed.""

"It would have been easier just make you a copy, but you got rid of mine awhile back," I reply.

"What do you mean I got rid of your copy?" she asks.

"Just what I said. You were weeding out the cd collection and bugged me about throwing that one out until I finally gave in and told you to do what ever you wanted to do with it."

"Really? I don't remember that."

"Well, I sure do."

"Why did you let me get rid of it?"

"I don't know. It was just a CD and maybe not the biggest fight we were having over that particular topic at the time."

poor lw, you should have just downloaded the album and let go of the resentment.

laughingwillow

LOL Maybe you should drink another beer and re-read the original post, syd.

Btw, I've never downloaded a song in me life. Why would I start now?

a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

ANyway, the wife is the one who once threw it away and now wants a new copy. If'n I would have wanted one, I would have bought another one.

it just shows that everyone cycles at a different rate.
i think it's cool she digs what was once dug (dug?) by you
And next time, she feels like de-cluttering, she might look at stuff as future treasure

(if it were up to my partner, my books would be out of the house, for example. Ya read em, ya keep em as long as you read em and then out. his books however, are read almost daily - like health encyclopedias and such, and therefore get to stay)

but makes life interesting.
and as an aside - i discovered a site where people trade books .
i managed to send some of my stuff to others who want it, and get some stuff i wanted. (book mooch at //http://bookmooch.com).
Check it out. No one pays for anything but postage.

Thanks, sistah-j.

Here's another say to tell the same story........

Many years ago, mrs lw went on the warpath due to a couple of my hobbies. At about the same time, she got an urge to throw out one of my discs that is more or less an homage to weed. I didn't make a big deal out of her request to ditch the cd, deciding that, in the larger picture, it wasn't a battle really worth fighting. (The cd went and the hobbies stayed.) Years later, mrs lw not only doesn't remember the incident, but she really likes the cd in question. Ironically, she is also currently jazzed about the potential move/change in our lives coming next year.......

Btw, sistah-j....... Sounds like you folks just need more bookshelves. (We have the same problem.)

Maybe you would like this site. Same concept as judih's link. Swap what you don't want for what you do want.

judih

thanks, syd, for the swap site. good idea. There's also an element of love attached to swapping stuff that makes the planet a little more friendly.

lw- nice re-take of the tale.
and as for bookshelves - yes - bookshelves are good.
but still hoping i can find someone round here to receive beloved books suitable for young kids (which would represent about 4 shelf-worths)

and LW - your new life change is gonna be a shake-up - who knows how.

I really like B-real's work with La Coka Nostra.
anybody else heard La Coka Nostra?

I can't say I can really get behind that type of music, but it is certainly a guilty pleasure of mine.
