Performance enhancing, performance inhibiting, either way I'm cool with it. Live strong Barry Bonds!

Glad you guys liked this one.

Baseball was a passion of mine in the late 60's and early 70's. The first tee ball team I played on at the age of 5 was the Orioles. I've been a fan of that team ever since. We may of only had three tv channels back then, but there was always a baseball game on Saturday afternoon during the season. The year after Dock pitched the no hitter for the Pirates, his team beat my Orioles in the world series. I remember watching or listening on the radio in the car to all the games. What an exciting time for a little kid.

Dock Ellis must have been a hella character. The first link gives a little more info on the no hitter.

The second talks about his life, death and pink curlers he wore in his hair at times in the bull pen.

from the second link: Throughout his career, Ellis found himself clashing with management, opponents and fans as the ultimate counter-culture player of his time. In 1971, he complained about the size of his bed at the Pirates' hotel in San Francisco during the National League playoffs, and moved out. He was also fined by the Pirates for wearing his hair in curlers and refusing to sign autographs. In 1975, he was suspended indefinitely by the team for throwing a clubhouse temper tantrum at manager Danny Murtaugh.

In a game against the Cincinnati Reds on May 1, 1974, Ellis deliberately hit Pete Rose, Joe Morgan and Dan Driessen with pitches in the first inning and threw two pitches behind Tony Perez's head before walking him. When he hurled yet another pitch behind Johnny Bench's head, Murtaugh took him out of the game. Ellis later explained he was trying to convey a message to the Reds who had apparently made some disparaging remarks about the Pirates in spring training.

One time on our way to a show in Chicago we passed an electronic sign directing dead fans to take Lake Shore Drive to the stadium. However, the sign read: Dead fans, take LSD to Soldier stadium. However, I'm pretty sure we dosed before arriving at the venue. hehe
