Some "Not so Nice Person" at the Lycaeum banned me the other day. When I went to log in, there is a statement saying boomer 2 you are banned for trading controlled substances.

First that is a lie.  San Pedro cactus' are legally sold in many plant shops and home garden centers in probably every state in the United States and they are not illegal cactus'.

I grow them in my home.

I offered in a thread a trade for a 2-pound cactus for several dried ounces of Amanita muscaria.  So they banned me for that.

What pisses me off, is that whoever banned me, never sent me an email telling that I had done something wrong.

And as such a ban, I have noway to talk to any mod about this matter as I cannot log in to do so.

[attachment=0:2wdh58k4]lycaeum1abc.jpg[/attachment:2wdh58k4]

I am honestly saying that I did not know that I was not allowed to ask for a trade of any kind at the Lycaeum site and to suggest by innuendo that I am trading in controlled substances is a false accusation thrown at my honesty and integrity.

Not Stir nor Misanthropy, or any mod sent me an email as to why I was banned.

I am 68-years-old and do not deal in any controlled substance with anyone.  I would never do anything illegal that would get me in any trouble with Law Enforcement authorities.  When I go to the sites URL, There in plain English, as shown in the image above, it says, "Banned for trading Controlled Substances."

And to think that I would purposely post such a thread so that I would end up being banned, is also an insult to my character, honesty and integrity as well as my reputation as a good member and contributor to the scientific and academic entheogenic community on the internet

The Lycaeum will get a nice page in my forthcoming autobiography about what I think of this shit.  That will be in history for all times.

As a respected ethnomycologist in the scientific and academic community, I will make sure that those who read my works will know of this libelous statement that someone there accused me publicly of trading in controlled substances.

As I was a member of the Lycaeum for almost 9 years, several years ago,  I noticed that I was not allowed on the site due to the commercial sales of mushroom related items at my website.   Because of that requirements, I personally removed from my site, all of my salable items.

My mushroom books, My Cd-Roms ofmushroom Histories, my hand-painted mushroom T-Shirts, Mushroom Posters and other mushroom related items so I could share good honest reliable shroom and other drug data with the Lycaeum website.  I have also, for 9-years, had a link on my website page to the Lyceum  website which I recommend as a reliable site for good information on entheogenic plants, etc., although they never did reciprocate in return a link to my site.

They have insulted my intelligence with this accusation and their cowardly method of banning me personally and not talking to me about why that ban was necessary was very cruel to my personage.

I hope one of them reads this and lets the other mods at the site know of my intentions to put this incident in my book, which has a publisher and what I will say about them in my book will most definitely reflect on the Lycaeum's Standing in the entheogenic and psychedelic community and show their lack of intelligence and communication skills by not emailing me and talking to me about this matter.

I will not go to Kinkos or a copy shop to rent a computer to bring my anger at this shit to their attention.  I personally gave up several hundred dollars or more worth of my business by removing the commercial products from my educational academic site to be able to contribute to the Lycaeum and this is how the repay my contributions to their site, by posting on my lycaeum log-in computer page that I was banned for trading controlled substances.

Stir and the other Mods or whoever did this to me should be ashamed of themselves.

I've been a member of  SPF for 9 years similar to your time at the Lyc, I can't comprehend how you feel...I'd be, well, IDK what I'd be. I hope one of them reads this boomer...

Wasn't sure where to post this?

Hey, I want to publish several new, as well as some old books in an ebook format and need certain software to create such a book.

I would be willing to trade a nice assortment of psilocybian mushroom spore prints for a software program I can use to create an ebook with.

I will also throw in copies of 2 of my out of print books "Wasson''s First Voyage" and "Magic Mushrooms of the Hawaiian Islands," plus one copy of my cd-rom, "Psilocybian Mushroom Cultivation" which has over 300 photographs of cultivated cubes from around the world

Boomer, respectfully, the above post was what got you temporarily banned, for ten days. Please be more careful in the future. You post in other boards where this may not be a problem, but you know Lycaeum is tight about this, and you have had issues like this in the past. I'm afraid another transgression will have the administrators talking about a permanent ban, which many of your fans would not like to see.

Kosmo, I received an email from Moo at Lycaeum.  My ban was listed as for trading in Controlled substances and it was IX who banned me and it appears that several mods were not pleased with the ban.

As for spamming, I sell nothing on my site. At Shroom Talk and several other sites I have had permission to sell books and/or hand-painted mushroom t-shirts and posters.  However, the majority of my shroom books are sold through my distributor, Homestead Book Co., the largest distributor of drug and counter-culture books in the west coast of America, I always link to my site for shroom information to people seeking answers to their questions, for looking at photographs no one else will ever have a chance to photograph, for free articles and such.

Shroomtalk allowed me to sell hand-painted mushroom t-shirts from Thailand at their site, posters, hand bags an my books and back issues of magazines with mushroom articles in them from Early High Times to Psychedelic Illuminations, TRP Magazine and editions fo other peoples mushroom guides.

As for spores, I whole sale prints to one third of all internet companies selling spore prints on this planet, so approximately 33 % of all spore prints world wide originated from my races of cubes and even Copes, such as Workman's new Pan Goliath came from me from a specimen which looked like a psilocybe and not like a Copelandia mushroom, most new races of Asian and some other strains from South America and Pacific Island Groups are developed by me, and by Hawkseye, Terence McKenna, Rich Gee, an d others from my prints And many sites which many members of US forums buy their prints from and their spore syringes from originated from my prints, developed and grown in the Nederlands and then returned to me in large quantities for my providing the mushroom farms of the Nederlands with spores for the majority of shrooms they sell throughout the country and the world

Two images of shrooms producing spore prints for me in quantities that I get from my friends in Holland before they are converted to spore syringes.

I also have given away hundreds of spore prints in free contests.  So I am not sure what you are referring to as spamming by me at other sites.  In fact in the Long House forum above, someone just complimented me on prints I sent to a member here in Scandinavia where I included several other free prints than the one I entered in the contest.

Two years ago, I removed ten pages of salable items from my site so I could contribute free of charge to Lycaeum members, articles and writings of mushrooms.  My only problem is that something in my computer will not allow me to post photos at the Lycaeum directly from my site and I have lots of security so I do not use sites like geocities or photobucket to send images to  other sites because of virus which could begin at those sites.

Currently I can post photographs and articles directly from my website  to directly to the following internet mushroom forum websites with no problems, and I do post at these sites:

mycotopia.net,
shroomtalk.com,
entheogen.com,
spritiplants.org,
bluelight.ru
Intensevisuals.com
Shroom Liberation Front UK
Russian Mushroom Site
Copenhagen Mushroom Link
Finnish Mushroom Friends
Hispanic Mushroom (Hongos) Link
McShroom's Psilocybe Scotland Link
Norwegian Mushroom Link
Polish Mushroom Site-Gatunki Grzybów Enteogennych
Spanish Mushroom Link
Swedish Mushroom Site
Zauberpilze Swiss Mushroom Link
hiddenforest.co.nz
http://www.drugs-forum.com

Yes I can post a photo directly from my site to all of the above mushroom forums but not directly from mine to the Lycaeum.

Also there are five more private sites I am not at liberty to post their urls

Last year, after diddling around, and a little help from Stir, I found I could post links from my art website which is in France and was built for me at no cost by Natura (A Japanese-French Journals), who then posted more than three thousand of my art images I created in 2000.  He did this free for me and  built the siote which is part of his counter culture site, Release the Reality.

And one product I posted about which I did not post a url to was my use of a -product called kowanite, which everyone at every site I posted photo images of the shrooms grown in kowanite, all asked for the url to the company selling kowanite and every site I posted the photos at allowed the url to be posted until the company sold out to an edible company who no longer dealt in cubes and kowanite in simple 5 and 10-pound mycobags.

And I also mentioned that by removing the book and t-shirt sales pages form my site in order to contribute tot he Lycaeum, I lost hundreds of dollars in sales due to that and I have not complained because I did so of my own free will, which Stir stated in a post at the Lycaeum. No one there asked me to do that.

See, I allow my works to be given freely, but Paul Stamets has taken people to court, people who have posted and/or providing for free, downloads of his copyrighted materials such as Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World, a book which has about ten species in it which do not contain any psilocin/psilocybin whatsoever.  His Mycelium Running had recently been removed from two different torrent sites.  And he had gone after someone who posted images of his SEM photography before.

BUt me posting a page of cyan images or articles about Hawaiian shrooms or descriptions of such shrooms is not spamming. It is sharing information.

So according to the mod who emailed me, The ban was actually unnecessary as he said the other mods should have been informed before hand about the matter.  ANd that would have then been brought to my attention that no one is allowed to offer trades.

But then again, IX, who banned me, did so by posting that I was trading in Controlled substances and that was an untruth.

Not much more to say about it, except you failed to mention your offer of free spores when you complained about the ban, which is the gist of the reason for it.

Personally, I pay little or no attention to such things but I am supportive of the mods who do, and who attempt to keep law enforcement from shutting us down or targeting individuals. The ban is for ten days, so you should be able to log in any day now.

As for the perception of some of moderators that you spam, I think the reason is that you seldom, if ever, engage in forum discussions beyond the threads you make about your trips and publications. From that perspective, your presence is self-promotion. If you check into it, very few Lycaeum members, if any, enjoy the same "status", for want of a better word.

It's truely your decision when it comes to membership in Lyc. If you are not gaining anything by it commercially or personally, then why bother? On the other hand, your have admirers and customers (I assume) who would like to see your threads continue, so simply be more careful in the future and put the situation behind you.

Kosmo,

I have not denied that I offered to trade free spores for software to learn how to make an ebook to post data at the lycaeum.

However, mushroom spore prints are not a controlled substance and that is what was posted at the site that i was trading in a controlled substance.

And yes I have engaged in many discussions at many websites in forums on philosophy, chemistry of plants, Politics, Animals and a-holes who feed hallucinogens of their pets or to wild animals.

I have also posted, at  more than 15 websites since 1999, according to a folder on my computer's hard drive titled, posted articles by others, more than 500 mushroom related articles not written by me and by posting those articles at numerous forums, I have thus shared them with tens of thousands of people, those than 500 articles stored in a single folder on my computer, all in a separate folder on my computer, were scanned pages as jpegs, and each page was individually resized and posted along with color photos of the articles I posted and those articles ranged in size from one page to 69 pages of information in a single publication.

All from journals which gave me permission to post their works on the internet.
One site where I have made financial contributions, yet rarely post there any more period is 3Dshrooms, sacredmushrooms.org/ M When he moved form the shroomery, he happen to take dozens of my threads, articles and photos to his site.

I have been a member there since day one. But lately sacredshrooms  has been being bombarded with porno spam bots and they clutter the sites cultivation section which I usually do not post there, and I am a mod there.

Shroomtalk, that is another situation all together, Barngoddess, Selfinfliction, administrator Jshroom, me and many other members left due to mis-communication by the owner who misled many of its members for 8 months.  Because of that, JShroom started a new site called http://www.intensevisuals.com.

I also have financially contributed to the nook in the past, to Mycotopia, and Bluelight.ru, erowid, edot spiritplants and numerous other sites.  I also have not advertised spore sites on my website except a link to Fungi perfecti who, if you asked for or about  Psilocybe s[ecies and spores, Stamets and his employees will blocked and  banned you for that, yet they do sell edible and  medicinal mushroom growing kits and supplies.

So you seem to be someone who has been around for years, but now you are posting under a new name with 11 posts here and 7 at Mycotopia.  So I take wholeheartedly the advise of the mod who emailed me about this matter and not someone who has a few posts.  In more than ten years I have responded to more than o 100,000 posts in replies and also started at least 25,000 threads, the majority of which posted  images of mushrooms, new species, how to pick and identify them, their habitats, numerous photos showing them in their various stages of growth and development, SEM and microscopy photograph, their habitats, every new species as they data was published and I contributed tot he community, not complained about the data I share with others.
