This is a tip for all you pickers out there. A few years ago a student of mine(can't remember who) gifted me with a book called "The Beatles Fake Book" If you aren't famliar with the fake book format, it's a format designed for players off all instrumetns  rather than piano arangements. So what you get is the chords, melody in standard notation and the lyrics. Another aspect is all te tunes are on one page each or 2 facing pages at them most so you never have to turn pages to play  a tune.

This book has over 200 tunes i  it, pretty much all their recorded work, and most tunes are in the same key as the record and most of the chords are correct. No attempt has been made to dumb the stuff down.

You can get it here:

a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

I also have some regular rock and roll fake books in my library from the 1970s, with 1,000 popular rock songs,  They are not always correct.

Also have the Doors Complete, And things like Country Joe and the Fish, The Jefferson Airplane, Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Fleetwood Mack and some Bob Dylan.

Didn't know you played, Boomer. The Beatles Score book is out of print? Of course it is a whole other thing than the fake book but what a document it is. My problem is reading the tiny notation.

I also have several other Beatle song books.

You are right about the keys and the words are so small I have a hard time reading them, but I know about two thirds of them by heart

I also play guitar. This is a really old photo from 1975.

And here I am with my friend and we are singing, "You've lost That loving Feeling" under a tarp, as it was hot in Hawaii on that day.  Check out Malia in the lower image.  She was hotter than the heat.

Also have a negative somewhere, impossible to find them from Hawaii, of me and Faces Director, John Rogers, singing "House of the Rising Sun" at the Waikiki Shell.

I also have sheet music for Johnny Mathis 2nd number one song, "The Twelve of Never," and Victor Young's original, "Around the World in 80 Days" theme song from the movie 1957 Todd A-P film.

And here I am in the studio in July of 1964 recording my record, "Mighty the Squirrel Meets the Beatles."

Notice how I kinda resemble Paul

Darn, wish I could find the negative for the Waikiki shell image, oh well
