Ipomoea tiliacea

I noticed that the creole word for the plant is "Caapi" or "Caapi Doux", So you can imagine surprise to look outside and see it straggling through the yard.....

Then Found this;

caapi: Name used in Dominica for Ipomoea denticulata and Ipomoea tiliacea. Von Reis Altschul 1975

Anyone have any info on this one?
Is it a Morning glory?
What about prep & effect?

Well we call the entire Ipomoea genus "morning glories." Its just a language thing, sweet potatoes are in the same genus. Whatever you call it the genus Ipomoea has many members with active alkaloids

This abstract says its not closely related to the batatas (sweet potatoes) complex. Which I would take to mean it has a better probability of containing interesting alkaloids. I don't see any references to batatas containing lysergicamides, and i would suspect that there would be even more interest in growing sweet potatoes if there were.

Got some B.Caapi seeds today, gotta pop 'em and see.
Least I know what I have for sure.
Although when I saw the seeds, they actually look like some of the seeds that I see flying around here for time to time....., Make ya wonder eh?

Yeah if your in the Americas and there is Ipomoea tiliacea around your in the range of interesting Banisteriopsis species.
