before dawn was born
i knew the morning glory

i slipped from morning capture

a morning opened up
from the mouth of the night
and i sat with a rapping kid
at the freakfest in desert's deep
it was his birthday
it was his day

we smoked the sun up high
and i left him with a bag
of legless friends
and a word and a warning
the word: "rapture"
the warning: "don't slow down"
