Our beloved shrub is at it again. Not content with the fisa spying bill that even Obama signed off on, he has proposed a new set of guidelines allowing the police as  well as national intelligence agencies to spy on americans who are not accused of any crimes.

The democrats will gladly accept and use these expanded police state powers if they happen to win in the fall. They no longer need a court ordered warrant to spy on you. They don't even need to suspect that you are working for terrorists. They just have to have a desire to do it. If you think Obama is going to come out against this, don't hold your breath.

New US domestic spying guidelines proposed: report

WASHINGTON (AFP) â€" The administration of President George W. Bush has drafted a set of guidelines for state and local police agencies that would make it easier to collect intelligence on ordinary citizens, The Washington Post reported Saturday.

The newspaper said the proposal, prepared by the US Justice Department, allows law enforcement agencies to launch a criminal intelligence investigation based on the suspicion that a person or a group is engaged in terrorism or providing material support to terrorists.

According to the report, local police would share results of their investigations with the federal government.

Under the proposal, intelligence information could be obtained from public records, the Internet, law enforcement databases and confidential and undercover sources.

The rules would apply to the nation's 18,000 state and local police agencies that would receive about 1.6 billion dollars a year to help cover the costs of their implementation
