Is there a spirit plants member here from Brazil that knows much about this plant?  

Psychotria ipecacuanha is the botanical name.  It is the true source of ipecac syrup.

I was thinking of growing some sometime once I can find a source.  

I figured it could be grown as an interesting house plant.
