Yeah well, I guess I should not even be presenting this here.  It's not like you folks need anything to bring you down.  Honestly I don't know what to do with myself...  There was this great lil red-head named Marci..  I guess you'd say she and I were a sort of a loosley linked "couple"...  We'd known each other for nearly 15 yrs...  Anyway, she died Fri night of complications from Hep-C and alcoholism...  Shine on bright babydoll...

Lost my boots in transit, babe,
smokin\' pile of leather.
Nailed a retread to my feet
and prayed for better weather...

so sorry for your loss, senor. The gaping sorrow must be unbearable. It's good you told us. Gotta let the words out somehow.
rest in peace, marci.

holes in the soul are really just a place where we have been touched by those we have lost, let their memories and accomplishments live on, trust me though, i know there is no greater pain

Damn Sal, your path just don't go easy does it?? Wish I was there to have a wake with you!!
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

for brother sal

we lose our hearts to the world
over and over
we remember
we mourn
we stride on

the sun shines on merciful days
and those we cannot abide
by limp, by dance, by things unknown
stride, stride on

life the wish
life the curse
life the mystery

just stride on

Thank you to all who have offered soulful solace in this, grey time I'm experiencing...  It's very much appreciated...  Hey Cen, as I read that poetry I was really moved..  In my head, I merely substituded the word  "Marci-Full" for mercifull....  Works great, and made me feel better....  A sister of Marci came up from south Florida the morning after she died and made swift arrangements to have her body shipped off..  Hell, the people at my end, those that knew her for the last decade or two, were not even told whether they sent her to south Fla or back to New Hampshire where she grew up and her Mom still lives...   Us  people here, are left with but the ghosts of her spirit, our memories....  Hmmm;  I find myself sitting here at this keyboard, the faintest hint of a smile crossing  over me...  She left her indelible mark on some fine folks I know.  They all speak of how she was "one of the good ones"...  Really,  I guess that's what makes it bearable.  That's what remains to comfort me...  Others; not just yours truly also acknowledge her, were stirred by her spirit, were touched by her life....  Yeah, I can live with and be comorted by that... Thanks all, thanks for your passion and willingness to care, to console...

I'm very sorry to hear that, Sal. Quite a few I was close to died including my parents. You just have to pick yourself up and go forward no matter how hard it seems to be.

Senior, don't know what more can be said.
I'm sure if your dear friend could say a few last words, she'd ask you not
to be too saddened.
Live on and share her memories bro!
