This is pretty hot for an '80s show. Jerry takes a couple extra rounds of solo during Brown Eyed Women & Peggy O. That's enough for me, but the rest rawks too!

SBD : MC > MR > DAT > CDR
Transfer done by Jim Wise
From : mailto:JoeO236@aol.com">JoeO236@aol.com

Here's what Frank Streeter had to say regarding the transfer:
Dan Healy did the master cassette, Russell Levine and I did
the MC > reel transfers, and Jim Wise took my reels and digitized
them. The MC was made on a Sony TC-D5M. This cassette was played back on a D-5M and recorded onto a Sony TC-770 half-track reel at 3.75
ips, which is the sonic equivalent to a 7.5 ips quarter track recording.

Disc One:

Rehab- Amy Winehouse--  the song of the year

Whims of Chambers-- Paul Chambers-- great jazz bassist's first solo record from the 50s

Work Out-- Hank Mobley- more great jazz by jazz greats
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

The Band by The Band

One of the great rock albums of all time, it was timeless in 1969 and sounds even better in 2008.

Also I got the Eric Clapton Crossroads Concert DVD for xmas.

Gaudi featuring vocals by the one and only Nusrat fateh ali khan has to be one of my favs of recent.

For those not familiar with Nusrat fateh ali khan then check his wiki for some info about him

Though obviously checking his  tunes would be better!

LOL The wife bought me the Gaudi/ Nusrat dub for christmas.

We've been fans of Nusrat for a long time, and were lucky enough to catch him and his entourage in Chicago shortly before he died. That was a memorable evening fer sure.

btw, bushie.. let me know if'n you want any nusrat discs sent your way.

Hi LW, it's a great album is it not? Though unfortunately it's my only knowledge of his work...I would love to hear some other nusrat music.

Bit a of a shift in gears without a clutch, but as of late I've been giving long, hard listens to early 90's electronica (i.e., early so-called "Intelligent Dance Music") and realizing that it's prolly one of my favorite genres:

Black Dog Productions - Book of Dogma
Polygon Window - Surfing on Sine Waves
Autechre - Incunabula
F.U.S.E. - Dimension Intrusion
Various Artists - Artificial Intelligence vols. 1 & 2

Most of these artists are still making fine music under different, often better-known names (e.g., some of Black Dog Productions became Plaid, Polygon Window is Aphex Twin), but it's neat and instructive to hear where they came from.
What I need is a strong drink and a peer group....
