Nanook

Hey all....
Ive been registered here for a while now, mainly just reading others posts and reports...getting used to a new forum.
(Still havent found a ''hello n intros'' board (as with most other forums im on), so i thought id post here. (especially as quite a few of you already seem to know each other!)

Well, a little about me a guess...ive been interested in Entheogens and Psychedelics for several years now.....(it all started with some Psilocibin Lib Caps aged 15........and has continued with me making an Ally of DiMiTri and eventually getting into extractions and other preparations.......lol )........  Having been a psy trance DJ for 10 years ive come across most psychedelics that are available in the UK....BUT rapidly grew to hate the drug taking part of our scene (too many kids running round with a belly full of AmPhet and LSD, trying to change the world and believing theyve solved all the cosmic puzzles.... (lol)..
I just wasnt into the mass drug taking scene...What always interested me more was smaller psychedlic gatherings and trips shared amongst good friends and similarilly shamanically minded people. ... I just love to hang out and share knowledge!!!
......
so...i guess thats why im here.

Hopefully get to chat to some of you soon.

One Love,
N

Hey, nanook.

Welcome to spf. (This is the introduction forum.)

This introduction is important, imo, as there was another fellow in cyber-space some time back who was also nanook. But that guy went off the deep end, from what I've gathered. So I'm guessing you aren't one and the same.....?

As abone fide hermit, I share your views on group dynamics. However about the only time I consume the sacraments mentioned above is  at certain musical events with 10,000 of my closest friends. hehe Go figure.....

Anyway, welcome to spf..

Hi Nanook, welcome UK also here :)

I am actually getting into trance music as a recent thing but I know what you mean, I recently  went to a festival that was really really good BUT I could not help but notice the amount of people using drugs that knew next to NOTHING about them.  But these events are full of some goood people also and is where alot of the scene is at.  Was quite disturbing, alas I digress from my intentions of a hearty welcome!!! WELCOME!!!

LOL! Thats definately one way to put it. I am sure he feels like he was maligned, though. Still, his legacy lives on after him.

You, uh, aren't him are you? :P Welcome either way, he was a genius in his own right and I had no beef with him myself.

LOL Cool...

The other nan came around these parts sharing some great cactus extraction teks back in the day. He also had his own nook in cyber-space. Word on the tubes is that he got pissed off one day and started throwing around satanic banishment incantations that sort of creeped out the good peeps of that community.

See you around the deep end. hehe

You say amphetamine and LSD like it's a bad thing.........

Rock on!
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

(laughs)....
Not a bad thing. They are strong 'rugs for sure. But cos they Man-Made....they have tendancy to spin people out and delude people.....(in my humble opinion....LOADS of people get deluded by LSD...start thinking theyve solved lifes or the cosmic mysteries...whereas all theyve actually found is a key to their own subconscious.....
I dont know about you but how many over-tripped conspiracy theorists or shaky phet heads have you met??...(i know a few)....heheehee

...shit yea.
I wouldnt know about being a real musician....
............what with being classically trained on the flute + guitar....(with basic training on Keys and drums.....)
...shieeet.....playing a guitar is LOADS harder than mixing on 4 decks while keeping a drum machine, keys, computer and sampler in time....

SHeeeesh.....
What was i thinking??
IVE WASTED ALLLLLL THIS TIME!!!!
(falls over laughing)

LOL I could care less about the difficulty of an individual  producing electronic "music."

The interraction of musicians in "real time" is what floats me psy boat......

What willow said......

Coming from a jazz, funk, blues, roots background it's all about the interaction, how many levels can you hook up on??  I don't know, I keep finding new ones..........

Pig-pile on da new guy!!!!

Concerning drum machines vs real drums........  I've come to the conclusion that there is a major acoustical difference between the two methods of producing beats. Maybe its because real drums with skin heads move a certain volume of air when struck and rhythms produced by drum machines lack this phenomena.  I guess what I'm saying is that, imo, under psychedelic duress, its just as important to feel some sounds as it is to hear them.
