"I have no idea..." (Psilocin in the UK)

I was reading through the Science and Technology - Fifth Report to the House of Commons relating to the misuse and classification of drugs (UK), and I found this comment rather amusing. They're discussing psilocybin:

"Sir Michael Rawlins, Chairman of the ACMD*, told us: "I have no idea
what was going through the minds of the group who put it in Class A in
1970 and 1971…It is there because it is there". The Home Office has
admitted that it has never conducted any research into psilocin use
and that there is "no clear evidence of a link between psilocin use
and acquisitive or other crime"

* ACMD = Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs

Brave of them to publish that. Be a great one to quote in a court of law some time lol Not volunteering to try it myself, but I think it makes the point pretty clear.
