Greetings,
I planted some astrophytum asterias, and coryphantha macromeris seed sunday evening. I washed the mini greenhouse in hot soapy water. I microwaved the jiffy pellets for a minute. I then hydrated them with hot water. After everything cooled off i placed 3-5 seeds on each jiffy pellet. I've had them sittin on top of my monitor for bottom heat. Well yesterday i noticed a lil bit of white fuzz on a few of the seeds so i watered them with a liquid coppercide solution. Checked again today and they're even worse now. So I took a few drops undiluted of the coppercide on each pellet and tried scraping as much of the white fuzz as I could off with a qtip. Anyone think these have any chance of surviving or have any useful tips?  Thanks in advance!!!

Peace

Bummer dude. No help here, as I have had mold ruin certain other endeavors in the past, and once it started nothing would stop it...

Yep that seems to be the case. I been reapplying the fungicide often, and it works for a few days and then bam theres the white fuzz again. I think this project is doomed. Hopefully I'll have better luck in the future!

Just leave the top of the chamber open for a few hours. It will retard or kill growth. I have found that most cacti seeds don't mind small fluctuations in humidity.

I think i may have gave them too much moisture!?! There was tonz of water drops in the chamber. I've since removed the 2 remaining lil seedlings and put in microwaved soil and watered it a lil replaced the seedlings and put in a ziplock slightly opened. IDK if these 2 will make it or not. I think I may try using parks biodome http://tinyurl.com/y24h4o next time it's supposed to be foolproof and has lil vents on top to help avoid too high humidity. I sure hope it works I've already sprouted and lost about 20$ worth of seed so far. One day I'll figure it out. :)

One might try a spritzing ( love that word :) with a mild H2O2 solution sprayed when watering.  Use right after mixing due to the fact that h202 is highlt unstable, and you will end up with water and oxygen instead.
