Normal First Trip?

I smoke Salvia tonight for the first time. It was only 5x. It seemed to hit me almost right away. I closed my eyes and seemed to float away to a pagoda surrounded by a koi pond. I seemed to be there about a half hour. When I came back it was only about 5 minutes or so gone. It took me about another 5 minutes to feel comfortable enough to walk around the house again.

Does that seem to be a normal first trip?

If you have to ask such a basic question, you should have done more research first, IMO.

What if you had come to us and asked, "For 4 hours I was tormented by demons that tore my flesh, then found myself lying in the yard having walked through a glass door. Does that sound like a typical first trip?"

But, yes, yours does sound like a typical first trip.

hiding: My guess is that you didn't really break through on your first attempt with sally. At least that's what your question and description of the experience tell me.

back when i first tried sally, 5x, didnt get anything when i tried the first few times, infact with the 1st gram i got nada, but decided to try again and the 2nd gram (not as in dose but batch) worked a treat...

best experience was following a man through a gate into a cube that was pink and black checkers full of gnomes/dwarfs who were working inside, i was then transported into a smaller box and stomped on, and thatw as that...ahh the memories...

Welcome to the forum there 'hiding':::    As far as was yer trip sort of the norm......   Yeah well,  Sally is just not like your other entheos; hence, the trip / experience isn't quote (normal) either....  Your experience of time alteration and the awareness that the come on is rapid, is pretty much about what you'd expect....   That said;  as you begin to delve deeper into Salvia space, (by either more experience/more usuage) you will more than likely be taken to places within the rabbit hole that will surprise/intrigue/excite/terrify/amaze you...  It's a tired ole cliche', but there really is a strange new world awaiting your discovery....  It falls to you, compadre, to make of it what you will...........  sal

Thank you all. I have to admit I did not anything about Salvia before the other night. My roommate had gotten some and I decided to try it. I did read a bit. I expect that I was not near breakthrough and that I may not have truly experienced much. I am excited to see where I have to go.

In my own defense. I did read up on it. I read several websites. I also spent a few days even contemplating whether or not this is something I wanted to do. As for saying "only 5x" there were several cases that I read people were starting with 20x.

I wanted to see if my experience was typical of other people or how it compared to other's use.

I do realize that this is not a plant to be playing around with. I would never do such a thing.

On the other hand, I agree with the "only 5x?" question by verchor. Plain leaf does the trick for me. But it may take a little extra effort at first. One has to really want/try to get off on plain leaf the first few attempts.

yeh, the reverse tollerance thingy is a real doozey at first.. i would personally reccommend starting at 5x or something, esp if your not a smoker, but esp if you want to dive in the deep end, balls to the wall, but plain leaf def beta if you wanna work up to a big experience..

My 1st SD trip was with 5X SD too. Even though I had read up on it before hand, nothing could have prepared me for the power of smoking an SD incense. :shock:

The Gnome-like Smelf: 1st SD Trip.


After going over the posts, I could not find where I had listed Jimmy's 1st SD trip from many moons ago. Thus, from his notes here it is again. What Jimmy had to say about his 1st SD trip.

I opened the small plastic bag with the 5X Salvia divinorum extract in it. I measured out 1/6th of a gram of it. I put it into a strait pipe. This being the first trip, I didn't quite know what to expect. However, I had read up on her beforehand. I had thought that it might be something like HBWR seeds. Ha, Ha! Little did I know what would next happen to me.

I placed the pipe upon my lips. I lit it with the lighter, and I inhaled it in two tokes. Instantly it hit me. Suddenly,
the walls were covered by this little gnome-like guy. He was bigger than a garden gnome. He was more like a short human.
He had a long white beard, and wore a long pointed light blue hat, and a red vest over a white shirt.

He was motioning me with his finger. He was saying; "Come here, come here." He seemed to want me to go down the hallway towards my bedroom.

All of a sudden, I felt a bit dizzy and hot and sweaty too. I set the pipe on the frig. Then I started turning off some light, and I was laughing while doing it. I could not believe how strong the SD was.

There the little guy was again. On the walls of the hallway. Once again beckoning unto me; " Come here, come here."

Once in my bedroom, I saw before me a rotating tunnel. Inside the tunnel was covered with green and blue tiles. At the end of the tunnel was a warm yellow light.
As I lied down upon my bed, I got the sensation of floating down the tunnel toward the warm light.

However this all ended too soon, as the light turned to darkness, and the darkness turned to night, I floated back down.
Thus, I found myself upon my bed once again.


This trip lasted about 45 minutes.

The Cobblestone Road

Upon a road of cobblestone he found himself.
Jimmy was an elf or gnome today.
Upon the road he walked anyway.
The way to here, and the way to there.
A way to a magic mystic lair.
Follow me to my home said a gnome to him.

Thus, there he went after too.
To a world of wonder under the earth.
A lair in a cave somewhere.
A home in a hole in a glen.
He followed the gnome into his home.
A land of a mysterious unknown.
The hole at the end of the road of cobblestone.

Heh... When I've used Sally for the first time it was x10. During a peak I felt like falling and I was freaked out! What I've met was a Guardian. Unfortunately it wasn't as nice as yours. He was more like a deamon and I could swore that I felt his claws piercing my shoulders... Probably it was a manifestation of my fear. It seems that Guardians are like mirrors or trails.

Today I'm in a very deep relationship with the Shepherdess. Like a love of a child and its mother.
