What is this site really about?

Hello all,

Question 1.)  I'm pretty sure this site is about different plants and herbs that cure, heal and produce different effects. Is it? Can someone give an overview of the different basics of the site and what it deals with?


Question 2.)  What are some basic, easy to grow and find plants that could produce different effects? I've heard of Wormwood and a couple others, but I am not really sure about them. Do you have any recommendations for a n00b? Just name some plants that could produce a mild drug effect and is easy to obtain.

There is wild dagga, lettuce opium, caapi (with other things), kratom and quite a few others. Look around and read the posts.

No offense, but you really are a noob.

We cannot begin to provide the encyclopedic offering that would suit your query as well as have been compiled elsewhere.

This site is more of a discussion than a repository of information.

I suggest you read elsewhere, such as at erowid.org, which is a repository of information and less discussion oriented, then enter discussions here about the plants that most interest you.  Doing so, you will get the best of all things.

But remember, everyone has different tastes.  Some people enjoy nutmeg and datura, whereas others enjoy cacti or salvia.

HI and welcome synfin32,

As others mentioned www.erowid.org is the palce you may want to start your research, you ask a very general question ( which is of course not your fault its merely because this is a new subject area for you ).   How did you come upon this site, what was your driving force for getting here ? Did you just stumble across us ?  As you may have already guessed we try to keep self incrimination to a minimum hence if you get funny responses it is normally down to that reason.

The plants we discuss here are many and varied, from plants used by shamans traditionally for visionary journey, to plants for healing physically, and much more besides and inbetween.   But for information you cant been erowid, it has something on almost everything!
