I just don't understand why people make announcements as to this sort of thing. I see it all the time on many different forums; 'announcement' threads that the person is leaving the forum, leaving the community, ceasing and desisting, so on and so forth. Why make an announcement? If you don't want to use entheogens anymore, just don't. Honestly, it doesn't affect the lives of anyone else.

I have wondered about the announcement thing myself....  The way I see it, is that there are many in the community that could arguably be termed to be 'highly introspective', quite used to questioning theirselves and so forth...  I think that it's a normal byproduct of many entheo-users relationships to the community at large, as well as the little niche they see themselves as occupying... Heck, when I'm out of town on a job,  I often find myself feeling somewhat 'guilty'. for not posting in a week or so...  Not that my posts are of any particularily earth shattering importance, but damned if there aren't often times when the "family aspect" of our lil entheo-community, has me missing all of you dear peeps :oops:  :wink: ---sal

I quit entheogens for a while, its been around two years for me.  Maybe someday I will go back there again, but for now I just don't have the mindset or fortitude I need to use entheogens as tools, and using them for recreation is rather hard on my sanity.  But I still read here daily, and sometimes post, once in a while I even pop up in chat.  You dont need to use to hang out here,you know.

Our best guess would be that many of the same individuals making public announcements when they jump off a bandwagon exhibit the same behavior when jumping on......
