..... and another method....
"Opti's Way" - Wet (Variation on Sadhu Sam)
This is the method I recommend if it's your first try at making hash. It works on the simple principle of specific gravity - THC glands are heavier than water! - that's about it. There are many variations of this technique, but here is the refined way.

What you need:
- Window Screen
- Big Mixing Bowl
- Hand Held Cake Mixer (manual or powered)
- Flower Sifter (Kitchen Store - mesh is smaller than the window screen)
- Tea Ball (a hinged ball made of fine mesh screen used for making loose tea in a cup.) Could get at kitchen stores. Or some other sifter - mesh should be 1/3rd the size of the window screen.
- Larger Clear Container (Brita water filter container works well ) - Should be tall and not too wide.
- Coffee Filters

Dry your weed till it's bone dry (crumbly) - there should be NO moisture left in it.

Put the window screen over a big bowl, and manicure the weed though the screen. Drag it back and forth pushing gently till all but the bits of stalk and stem remain.

Take your mixture, and sift it through the smaller mesh flour sifter. Do Not Manicure it this time, just jiggle or tap the sifter till nothing more is falling out. You should have more green material in the sifter now - discard that - what you are after should be in the bowl now. You may even see a white to yellow dust on the sides - this is the KIF - that's what we're after.

Take this bowl and place it in the freezer for 1 hour minimum. At this point you should also make sure you have a few trays of ice cubes made up. Also at this time, use another container (big pop bottle) fill with water, and also put in freezer. Everything must be as cold as possible. The THC will become brittle, and easier to break and fall off the weed.

After 1 - 2 hours, take out the water, and bowl of weed dust, and fill your empty Brita container 1/4 full of the dry dust (no matter the container fill to 1/4). Don't waste time while doing all this - stuff will start to warm up fast.

Pour the cold water mix till the container is 3/4 full. Still moving fast add a tray of ice cubes to the mixture.

Now get out your hand or power cake mixer, and begin mixing and breaking up the ice for about 2 or 3 minutes. If you need more water, you can top up with cold water. The container should be as full as possible. You should now have what looks like green algae soup - with bits of stuff floating and swirling about.

Take this container, and set it on the counter for 10 to 15 minutes maximum. You should begin to see all the plant vegetation floating to the top, and a fine layer forming on the bottom. If it's good, it will look like a layer of beach sand.

Take a slotted spoon and a fork, and very, very gently begin to extract the floating layer of green sludge off the top. You can scoop it into another bowl. It is important to do it gently, so as not to disturb the layer of KIF on the bottom.

After it's out, start slowly pouring off all the liquid, till only an inch of water is left above the KIF layer.

Now fill the container one more time with the cold water (it will mix the KIF layer back with the water - don't worry), now let stand for 7 to 10 minutes. If the leaf material is in the water too long, it will become saturated and start to sink - contaminating the KIF.

While waiting for that, put a coffee filter into a strainer or colander, and get the tea ball (or your finest mesh filter - flour sifter, etc.)

Again, SLOWLY pour off all the water (preserving the KIF layer at the bottom) till only 1 inch remains above the KIF. Now swish it around to mix it all up, and (holding the tea ball in one hand) pour it all through - 1st the tea ball, then down into the coffee filter. The tea ball will catch even more unwanted green, and let the water and KIF fall into the coffee filter.

You should now have a goldy green sandy looking layer on the coffee filter. That's gonna make hash friend! Let this coffee filter dry somewhere over night (on top of the fridge, etc.) careful about wind though!

When dry, take a spoon, or a credit card, and scrape this off the coffee filter. You now have your KIF. The next stage is pressing into hash. If you did it right, you should almost be able to press it with your hands alone (but this only works if it's quite pure) - if not you need to use some tricks to get it to change to hash

Anybody ever hear of anybody who attempted this?  It does seem like a good alternative to bubble bags.

:D After the house screen I use silkscreen on a frame.Clean blond kif, don't discard ANYTHING. Then I put all leftovers in PVC 1"+14" with screw on-off caps for both ends. Tap small hole on both ends, attach butane canister to one end shoot a gooey wad on large mirror. This is almost done, this stage is called concrete, if you don't work it into a ball with razor + wood toothpicks you'll find out why. Now to make pure essential healing oil add Everclear to concrete and it will disolve into your tincture. Or my creation is to roll and coat it in the kif- Jello-balls-be careful 10-15++stronger. Remove cap ends asap or in a pinch warm up tube to remove. Don't overwork dry mixture light brown no green, I just put kif in double baggie in HOT water for few min. sqeeze-press blondies   :)  :?  :D

I've heard of that, but with an additional pre-step eliminating the tiresome hand work. Take your trusty maytag outside in the cold, fill it full of ice and cold water, throw in a silkscreen pillowcase and wash on gentle cycle.  Collect the drain water and proceed from there.  Helps to elevate the washer to drain completely.
...and as if from the inception of time itself I realized I was and had been for sometime, elsewhere, elsewhen or somehow, quite seriously, otherwise...
