Quote from: "dergheist"Sorry winder that was a little petty on my part.  .

No apology necessary- I didn't think it petty.
You pulled my own sort of stuff on me.
No offense taken.
You pointed something out I should have thought of that is useful in consideration and general edification.

Glad no hard feelings man.  I still think I was a bit uppity on that though.
People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.

Maybe I'm way off here, but if Ave is looking to distill aromatics down to the 'essential oil level', it would seem to me that it would only amount to a simple matter such as a couple runs through the ole expresso, and then, a simple distillation and recovery...  Seems that most anything one would want to arrive at already has a published boil point eh???  Winder/sombody can surely ring in her with more authority.....   Am I even half right, or should ole sal stay the hell outta the kitchen?? ----saucir chef supremo sal 8)

Your exactly right Sal, I'm looking into making essential oils.  Simple as that.  Steam distillation only and as efficient as possible, i.e., not having to concentrate the end product or defat or anything like that, just add the foilage, add the water and let the magic happen.  Like I said earlier, that heartmagic place online I mentioned has a perfect example of what I'm looking to do if one were to do a google search on it.

Unless you are a lampworker Avery, I would suggest laying down the cash for this distiller on his website.  I am very impressed with it and might even be making me one from his design.  He is right about how superior it is to all the distillers, I am just suprised that somebody else did not think of it sooner.  Too cool. This would be the perfect setup for all biomass distillations and what I was mentioning about the copper tubing and such.....chunk that idea.  I think you would be much happier with this guys contraption.

Bingo!  Thanks Senor!..........Very much thank you.  Although I think that heartmagic setup is superior in alot of respects.  That site you pointed out helps out alot.  I think I can put something like that together fairly easily.  I already have a distilling column.  The rest is simple.  I was just having trouble translating what I saw on heart magic site to a more practical getto setup.

Cool beans:  I remembered you mentioning having a reflux unit and such.  That's what made me figure you could take a gander at the Flora site and get up to speed....  Glad I could help....      sal

I just got one of those distillers from Heartmagic! I'm so excited to try it out.

I'm going to make some Palo Santo oil first. :)

Gary is a heck of a guy, but those keck clamps just don't hold up to high temps...
